nah ipod touch is better

seems cheap - better to convert the vids though else waste about 60-70% of the space which is mayeb important due to no expansion slots.
decent quality movie of supported res is maybe about 750mb but 250mb or so at screen res.
nothing about battery there either

So do normal .avi files play fine without conversion?

I've managed to run all my AVI files on this with no problems, any AVI files I've thrown at it have ran without any problems. One nice feature is that you can run the AVI blown full screen without the horrible black borders you get from some DVD to AVI conversions..

do you have high bitrates or low or?
does the avi running fullscreen get cropped keeping aspect ratio or stretched to fit messing the picture?
by borders do you mean top/bottom and left/right bars or do you mean a black frame? the borders which aren't a full frame are there so you can watch it properly so aren't really horrible.

The bit rates on some of my files are 125kbps, although I think I have used some that are higher...

It appears to stretch the aspect ratio from the ones I've ran so far..

Borders are top/bottom as you'd get widescreen on a standard dvd film..

It might also be worth taking a look at mp4nation's website as they have the same units which are generic..
