Football Manager 2011
First changes regard a complete turnover in the negotiations - agents, who's been present in the game since FM 2005, will now take a greater role in the process. They will vary from one another through different characters, which means that our negotiating method might work with one of them, but with another it won't. One agent will be very demanding and another will just want to sell his client. Sports Interactive used real life agent's experiences when implementing this into the game and thanks to that we will also see about a dozen new contract clauses, such as: making the team of the year bonus or minimal fee release clause if a big European club makes an offer. Also, the negotiating process will be different - instead of exchanging paper contracts between the club and the player, now we will have a dialogue, during which the offer will be negotiated right away, or the player will delay it in order to think about it or wait for another club to make another offer.
We will also see changes in training - Jacobson mentions, that up until now they weren't really sure how to bite that part of the game and didn't know how to make the gamers happy. FM 2011 gives another try to pleasing the fans - training will be easier in use, but at the same time greater in depth. We will get 14 different training schemes, which allow us to train the players in more specific areas.
Another novelty is match preparation section, which allows us to prepare our players in different formations or concentrating on different areas, such as blending the team together, if we are the type of manager who likes to make a lot of transfers to its team.
As every year, there also has to be some changes to the interaction with players and board and mind games. The SI director announces that the system was completely rebuilt - there will be a lot of possibilities of interacting with players eg. through a private talk (in the game it looks like a chat), which can help us to get the player's mood up and such.
The news box will now be connected back with the inbox, which wil be easier to use thanks to a well working subscribing option. If we are interested in information of one kind, we subscribe to it, but if something doesn't concern us, then we unsubscribe from it.
In the match engine we will see improvements in graphics of players, stadiums and supporters. It'll also be interesting to see implemented the new emotion system, through which we will be able to see how players react when they are happy or disappointed.
One of the greatest changes will be the dynamic league reputation - if a weak club will do well in a competition, then not only its reputation will raise, but also the league's. That will help the league as a whole to improve and attract better players to join it.
