I have the Asus version and the fan stays stuck at 100% so it's noisy. You can check the net to see other cases of this. Don't know if Force 3D is affected the same way (doubt it) and it's a good price.
#3
have heard a few cases of that but it is a fault with your card. asus say it should be no louder than 23db.

Shame theres no free delivery at ebuyer anymore

Hi
I awaiting my new rig, minus a graphics card, was thinking of NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB or ATI Radeon HD 3870 512MB GDDR4 at £80

I guess the card on offer is below the spec of those two cards?

Thanks

can u stick these into laptops?

Yeah these are about as fast as the old ATI 3850s. So not a bad price since the 3850s are still selling for £60 in most places.

Where are you getting them for that price at? Its not a massive leap below the 3870, and certainly offers great "bang for buck" but if you can get a 8800GT for £80 and have the cash, then go with that.

One point to note is that these cards have very low power requirements, you don't even need to hook up a PCIe power connector.

Thanks for the info guys,, My OH ( sbonera) is going for the 8800.

both the 8800 gt and the 3870 can be found at novatech

would this work with my Dell E520?

As long as it has a PCIe x16 slot, it'll work fine.

This is my machine too! Yes it will, I specifically needed a card with no extra power connector.

Depends on the game, in some the 4670 exceeds the 3870, but in others it tends to be on a par wit the 3850.

I'd put this card down as the ideal upgrade for a pre built machine, something like an 8800GT would really be pushing it on the budget PSUs they use and the lack of airflow is another real concern.

Given the much lower power requirements, lower price and the fact that AA doesn't kill the performance like on the 3800 series, I'd take an 4670 everytime.

I think this is a good deal for the 4670, but I can't find any reviews on the Force 3D. Can anyone find a review here?

I've got mine in my machine now. Fan's a little noisy but nothing major. Running 2 screens perfectly!

If you're referring to Dell PSUs you are mistaken. Dell underrate their PSUs' wattages so they seem to be underpowered, but just the reverse is true. I've heard of many people running a 8800GT on one of their 300W PSUs which has a native 6pin PCI-E connector - which other pre-built manufacturer's 300W PSU can achieve this?

i got one in my pc to replace my trusty ole x850xtpe and this blows the pants of it
playing crysis at almost top res
farcry 2 at top
dead space
5.8 and 5.9 on vista 64
for the price best bang for buck ( or pound) its back upto £59.54
and its not noisy !!!

I have the Sapphire version of this card and the fan isn't noisy at all it changes speed with the temperature.
I can play GRID at full settings and 1440 by 900 resolution at top FPS. Great choice but ebuyer doesn't have this price any more it's now £63.35.
