I don't like that particular site. They won't give a quote without you giving them your details (spam alert) and add £500 if you don't take a loan (dodgy)

Only problem with new Focus is no 3dr model - so those with 3dr primarily the sporty 3dr ST's will most likely see second hand prices stay strong when new model is released for at least a year as there is no like for like newer model.

Is this an indication of car manufacturers coming to their senses at last? I never understood the purpose of cars with only 3 doors other than those tiny cars where the body is physically too small to have rear doors, or where the car only has 2 seats.

Personally think the 5dr is ugly but the 3dr looks pretty good. But then I have no kids and fulyl able bodied friends who if im giving a lift to can put up with moving a seat forward to get in or out of my car.

The real answer is manufacturers are cutting back on costs where ever possible, and by not making an entire model type (3dr, 5dr, 4dr and wagon otherwise known as estate are a model type) means massive cost saving and easier production techniques.

I think it's a weight and aerodynamics thing. As the ST range are suppose to mimic the rally versions (hence the appeal of the sports range), they use the same frame on the line. Having extra doors and windows does marginally slow your car down by increasing drag, and everything counts if you've already maxed out the 2 litre engine block restrictions set in rally regulations.

I didn't look any further. There are plenty of websites where I can get a discounted quote without having to give my details, and definitely don't add on £500 if you don't take a loan.
