if you have to have a focus wait a few months, new model is here in april and reading the reviews you would still be better off with a golf

DPF = Diesel Particulate Filter ...... BIG trouble and BIG cost unless you drive Motorway miles regularly.
#6
correct- avoid diesels with this,my mates got one on his and the warning light is always coming on,unlike my civic-haha

Once again...correct.
I m on my second VW transporter van both of which have had / does have a DPF. Both vehicles were owned from new.
I do motorway miles 5 to 6 days per week (350 - 400 miles per day).
I have never seen the DPF warning light on my current vehicle (16 months old)
The previous Transporter had a major fault with the DPF which was duly repaired under warranty, at about the 6 month old point, by my kindly VW van centre, even though it IS NOT a warranty item.
Anyway the point of this post is to advise those people who are thinking of buying a diesel car with a dpf fitted, is that if they do not do a few motorway miles per week then they will almost certainly see the DPF warning light.

Nice car but the new one is out soon, so discounts are gonna be aplenty and the resale value are going to plummet further.

I got a flyer through the door today for a new Focus 1.6 petrol Zetec for £11,999.
