Kommunist comment - I just serviced my Ford Mondeo at main dealer and it cost me 99 quid as described above. They promised to send me M&S vouchers within 28 days as it comes from their head office.
To get this promotion, you need to call'em first and ask for Value service + vouchers offer.

Plus they give Nectar points

Nope :( According to Ford dealer, Ford quite scheme some time ago, so no Nectar. Not sure if that is true though.

There is one more thing to consider this offer: the main dealer stamp will look good in log book when you'll be selling your motor :)

I get my MOT & service for around £50 using a non-Ford service station. Can't see how £40 M&S vouchers is such a big deal!!!

duneindex

So they lied to me then. Isn't that what car dealers supposed to do? :)

Ford main dealers should still be offering nectar points.

However, my local Ford main dealer used to offer this basic service for £60 with an MOT for an extra £10 (No M&S vouchers)

Note it is not available for cars 3 years old and under (as specified above). Nor does it comply with the Ford specification for servicing. Ford/motorcraft official replacemnt parts are not used either - they did for me but that's because I insisted but I had to pay for the genuine parts extra and they didn't give me the pattern parts I had paid for as part of the deal.

Very expensive for what is effectively an oil & filter change, so on that basis I am voting cold.

They marked the service book clearly as 'Not to Ford specification' - think I'd prefer a stamp from a back street garage to that.

Really? (staring at absolutely standard stamp in logbook).

Yes, really staring at 'Not to Ford Specification' written in hand under Ford official stamp :-(
It's also printed on the invoice.

Now I am even more confused. It doesn't say this on mine receipt (there are 4 paper sheets: receipt, visual checklist, service checklist and replaced parts list).

Maybe it is dealer-dependent?

Perhaps you're right but this is what my receipt looked like

The reason I the air filter was not fitted was that I wasn't going to pay £10 for the mechanic to undo a couple of spring clips to fit the filter - I went straight after the service to the spare department, bought a genuine Ford Air filter (cost £3.56 incl. VAT which I would have to have paid for anyway if I wanted a genuine part fitted) and fitted it myself in less than 2 minutes
Headlamp adjustment was required to pass MOT and cost £10 + Vat
Note the genuine oil filter at the bottom that I purchased extra (FINIS code: F1066071)

Sorry I do not have scanner, so I have to type everything. Here is what my receipt says (I try to type it as it is in the paper, so caps are not for shouting :)):

A - MSVS Ford Value Service and M&S Vouchers - 99 FOR SERVICE
L - OIL TOTAL-FINA QUARTZ 5-30 SEMI-SYNTHETIC ENGINE OIL
X - F1119613 FILTER ASSY - C
X - F1250507 FILTER ASSY - O

Total 98.99

Then there is a long two-page list of checks and recommendations (they recommended to change rear breakpads for 97 quid but I think it could be done elsewhere cheaper, so I refused).

I didn't went for MOT one as it is due in September.

just been looking through my nectar emails and found this one which is still valid...

Available from 12th February to 15th April 2007

Dear xxxxx,

After a harsh winter isn’t it time you gave your car a little bit of TLC? Take it for a Ford scheduled service and you’ll have it in great condition and ready for the coming year.

A Ford scheduled service will give you complete peace of mind especially when you consider that:

• All work carried out is by Ford trained technicians
• Your car undergoes a thorough 27 point visual healthcheck
• Only Ford genuine parts will be fitted

Plus, you’ll have 2,500 Nectar bonus points to spend at your leisure. So why not treat your car and yourself?

To collect your 2,500 Nectar bonus points, simply book your car in for a service between 12th February and 15th April 2007, quoting 8016. For more information and details of your nearest Nectar participating dealer, visit www.ford.co.uk/nectar. Please print this email and take it with you when you have your service and Ford will do the rest.

not sure about printing the email but you could always ask them about the points

just thought I'd add that you can use tesco clubcard deal vouchers for servicing at Nationwide Autocentres so you're effectively getting a service for 25% of the price...also applies to MOTs...£10 of clubcard vouchers give £40 of Nationwide Autocetre tokens.

there was an offer for M&S vouchers if you took a test drive
is that still available?
