This was posted previously but thought it was worthy of a re post as such a great deal and with summer holidays coming to an end maybe a winter holiday is required!

Experience a real Forest Holiday in one of our superb Cabins. With a style to suit every taste and depth of pocket our cabins are perfect for couples, families and groups of friends. You can even bring the dog! From Ranger Activities to pony trekking and kayaking, there's plenty to do on a Forest Holiday. And you can save money on activities and so much more with our Forest Experience Card.

Loctions:
Deerpark Cornwall:- The Cabins at Deerpark are nestled around an old millpond and surrounded by forest. Set deep within a wooded valley, Deerpark is just seven miles from Cornwalls rugged south coast.

Keldy:- Keldy sits on the edge of the North York Moors National Park which is a haven for wildlife. The Cabins are set in the heart of the forest - perfect for exploring all year round.

Cropton:- New for 2009, Cropton Cabins is set in the dense woodland and open glades of Cropton Forest in North Yorkshire. The ideal place for a family holiday with activities on site and in the local area.

Argyll:- Opening in 2009, Argyll Cabins are set on the shore of Loch Long, providing breathtaking views of the mountainous Argyll Forest Park.

Strathyre:- Close to Callander, Strathyre is watched over by towering Ben Ledi. The Cabins overlook the pine-fringed Loch Lubnaig or nestle close to the tree line. A perfect location for your cabin holiday.

There are several different types of cabins, some have out door hot tubs, and some accept dogs, there is even a treehouse at one place which looks fab!

I just booked a silver birch cabin at deepark for 16th Nov 4 nights and it was £159 to take dog as well, prices are PER CABIN so if you have one that sleeps six you'd devide the price by six so on the dates in nov that'd work out super cheap for a winter get-away!!

T's & C's

What a confusing website and all of the available dates are sporadic. No 7 days in a row in Cornwall. I am getting prices per night not per cabin as was suggested.
#2
I cant even get to the availability page!!! Poor site.
#3
Trying to select days is a little like the Krypton factor!
#4
great for off peak if you can go then, but no deal really for peak school hols/xmas/summer. fairly easy to see availability quickly- trough parks, then park prices(individual) then availability
#5
3 nights 165 per night lol
#6
The site's a nightmare to navigate and they have next to no availability left for 2009 but the company is awesome and the prices are extremely fair for the quality of cabins you get
#7
no special offers here. in argyll, 600 quid for 4 nights in october in argyll what a joke
#8
hate the site AHHhhhhhhhhhh
#9
coming up as £294 for 3 night break in the cheapest accomodation - no luxury ones available
#10
ok so the site is a bit fiddly but i've just gone back thru some dates and there are still loads of bargains..

the deals are out of season but the cabins look amazing!

Examples still available;
23rd-27Nov
Deerpark Evergreen 3 bed £130
Copperbeech 2 bed £136
Strathyre Evergreen 2 bed £104
Evergreen 3 bed £115
Copperbeech £120
Keldy Copperbeech 2 bed £136
Evergreen 2 bed £136
Evergreen 3 bed £130
Copperbeech £136

There are also similar available for 30th Nov - 6th dec but the tree house is available at Deerpark for £461 (a little pricey i know)

The deals are there, you may have to fiddle with ur dates cause the sites not great but theres plenty left still!

only a single hamster .. or a budgie by special request.

A few cabins are set aside for people with dogs and they charge you an extra £5 or £10. They've only just redesigned their website too. If you go via the Hoseasons website you'll be able to find the dates and prices a little easier.

Yes in some cabins (it states pet friendly)
I took my dog to Strathyre earlier this year & it was very dog friendly.
#18

we're taking our dog, think it cost £20 extra :)
#19
just booked 4 nights in deerpark cornwall mid nov for £118 + £20 for dog!
lovely jubbly!!
spoke to very helpful lady on the phone.
#20
These seem like good deals to me..and I dindt have a great problem finding them.there is a place for promotional codes...does anyone know any ?
#21
just spoke to someone and the rate above are for dates in november and later (maybe last day october). this is not a special offer just low season prices. dates have to be from certain weekdays to certain days. i think it was fri to fri , fri to mon, mon to fri. there wasnt an option for say wed to thursday. kids on holiday near end october but would have been the high season of 300 to 550 for mon to fri. shame looked really good but cant take kids out of school.
hope this helps and best to give a ring ( 5 minute queue on phone)
#22
From FAQ's

"Will it be dark at night?

Erm, yes. That may sound like a daft question, but at Forest Holidays we avoid light pollution by keeping night time light levels as low as possible, so when we say dark, we mean DARK. We therefore advise that guests bring a torch with them.

i did put dates in the examples i gave, personally for me this is a deal, i dont know many places you could get a cabin holiday so cheap and per cabin as well not per person!
#25
I booked for 4 nights in Strathyre during the 1st week of November when this last came up , £104 all in .
#26
Read this before you try to book :

For your information; Four night breaks start on Monday and finish Friday. Three night breaks start on Friday and finish Monday. Seven night breaks start and finish on Monday or Friday. The above will change for our Christmas and New Year breaks.
#27
I booked the third week in Nov at Strathyre for £110 (+ breakage cover for the wee one!). Excellent deal. Thanks OP!
#28
I used to live near Deer Park Forest in Cornwall, and went there all the time. It's a beautiful location, as are the surrounding areas. So, I recommend the location, but am not voting hot or cold given the issues with availability.

I previously posted this deal a while back.....http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/384639/4-night-winter-break-7-11-december-/
It is an easyish site to navigate and there is no promotional codes or special offers for certain weeks. The prices are low and high season so if you go between end of october to mid february, you are likely to pay up to £169 for a silver birch cabin!! Obviously since I posted this myself, a lot of cabins were snapped up. These winter hols always book up early as they are so cheap...a family of 4 for £111-£169 for 4 days is a steal in these hard times!!.
When I was on the phone to customer services, she said that there had been a surge in bookings and cheekily tried to blag some discount, but to no avail. I am booked again for 20th Nov for a week in Keldy in a silver birch with hotub for £154 all in. Electricity is now included in the booking as you used to have to buy a card and top it up. So its an even better deal. Smashing places, look on Tripadvisor.co.uk for reviews. Enjoy!!

ahhh i knew someone had! thankyou, i booked my holiday after seeing that in Deerpark, the prices are amazing! we have a whole group of us going with out toddlers and cause the cabins are so cheap we're having one each :-)

Remember this is not centre parcs.

There is nothing on the sites. So when it gets dark about 4pm , you will have to make your own entertainment. There is no bar or restaurant to go to in the evenings.

The prices in winter are low for a reason. i suppose its ok if you need peace and quiet for a few days.
#34
Don`t forget quidco for 5%!
#35
thanks OP just booked a long weekend in november 141.00 for a 3 bed cabin:)

Peace and quiet for me too, just booked four nights in 3 bed cabin in Keldy in Oct break for 270. I'm very happy with that especially considering prices elsewhere on that week
banned#38
I'm tempted to go by myself and find my own entertainment when it gets dark...
#39
Gosh this is a difficult site to negotiate. I will need a holiday after all that.

Is Keldy a good area for Ramblers,?
