Do shopto hold their price, or reserve the right to increase it if they feel like it before release?

Seriously, do it. I bought one last month and it's like being a kid again. Everyone who has used it now refuses to drive with pads.
Looking forward to playing this game with it :)

They've always held from my experience. I've pre-ordered the 360 version for £31.98.

will have to save up for a g27! wish i bought a g25 now when they were cheaper.

"Sometimes between pre-ordering an item and its dispatch a product's price can change. However with our pre-order price guarantee should the price of an item increase after you've placed your pre-order we will honour your original price! The price you pay will be listed in your pre-order basket."

For me, the thing about paying £200+ for a racing wheel is that I doubt I'd use it enough to justify the cost. Plus, you'd need one of those bucket seats to go with it or a while lot of desk space. Thing is, they do seem to hold their value pretty well on ebay so I guess if **** did hit the fan then there's one way of salvaging a bit of cash.
#10
slightly off subject but whats the best 360 steering wheel out there?
#11
I pre ordered this 18th May
#12
Really looking forward to this. Last F1 game on PC was Grand Prix 4.

The best are the Fanatec wheels but they aren't cheap, the official MS one is good enough for the price, although it was discontinued some time ago so you may struggle to find one new at a good price. There have been rumours for a long time of a second wheel being released, but it doesn't look like it now MS are focused on invisible steering wheels instead. (_;)
#14
I'll sell you an invisible one for a fiver, it's not branded though mind.

I bought the Logitech Driving Force GT to use on my PC as I can't justify the G25, let alone the G27. I traded in some 360 games at Argos to pay for it. I've even used Joy2key so I can control volume and track changes in iTunes as I drive lol.

The Official 360 wheel is supposed to be good but there are no force feedback drivers for Vista/Win 7. Glad I found out before getting one.

I was looking at the GT as well. looks like a good alternative although it doesn't have a clutch pedal. Will be fine for f1 though which is what id mainly use if for I suppose. How do you find the flappy paddles? They look more like buttons.

this game looks awesome

I actually use the paddles for rear view and handbrake at the moment. It's a little frantic trying to manually change gears whilst fighting the wheel :p

well I purchased a new gt of ebay for 60 quid inc postage which I thought was a good deal considering prices at the moment. :) now just need to buy a game to keep me busy until f1 comes out. might get grid.

Awesome, hope you enjoy it. Have a play around to see if you can find settings you're happy with, but let me know if you want my Grid config :)

I have a spare Steam code for Dirt 2 too if you want to make an offer (I was supplied two copies with my ATI 5850).
#21
very tempted. 6 quid paypal? trying not to spend too much at the moment although im not doing too well.
#22
I would have got this! for this price!

But just bought 5mins ago it on Steam for £26.99! but then again, I love Steam and can't wait to use it on my setup! - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gR-eBNkt9-8

I have to admit to being sceptical when i first heard that Codemasters where involved after Pygnosis/Sony Liverpool finally gave up the franchise they had such done amazing things with since i think 1996 . Over the last couple of months through positive feedback and some great looking videos of their iteration im actually thinking they may have pulled it off . Keeping my fingers crossed .
#24
Had this preordered for a month now! Really looking forward to it!
#25
The game looks superb, really can't wait to play :D

preorderd thanks. But it is the first time i have ordered of shop to and i have the item in something called a "hidden preorder" and i have the choice to pay now.
Should i pay now or will it so it auto when the item comes to ship near release? Thanks.

already have the 360 version on preorder from these
#28
wondering if i should buy it on PC or PS3... but with steam support, PC seems the best option (now that I hooked up the TV on the plasma).
Will the boxed copy of F1 2010 will be on steam too?

Looking forward to this game too. Since we're on the topic of steering wheels, does anyone have any ideas for a wheel that works with both PC and Xbox 360? As MBeeching said the official 360 doesn't have force feedback on PC. I've got an old Sidewinder force feedback wheel, but Microsoft never bothered making a driver for Vista or Windows 7. It still sort of works, but the force feedback doesn't, so I never bother to get it out. If I could get one that would work with both systems, I could just about justify it.
#30
Try the sidewinder with the game ;)

Here is a list of compatible steering wheels for 360, PS3 & PC.

Think i'm going to go for the G25 (if i can find one) or G27 if I can stretch it as I can use it for both F1 for PC and GT5 for PS3 8)

Game have the official MS Xbox wheel. Just ordered one at the weekend (you will need to copy/paste the link as it hasn't pasted too well for some reason).

Thanks for the replies. I see now that the only proper force feedback wheels for the Xbox 360 are the official one and the Fanatec. The official one doesn't have force feedback on the PC and the Fanatec is really expensive. So that idea's out the window.

Although my old Sidewinder is listed as compatible with F1 2010, I'd assume that's without force feedback, unless you're using XP.

yup looks a good game thanks for the post

It will happen auto when they are ready to ship it.

Looks like a bargain - this should breathe some life into my dust-collecting G25.

My only worry is that Race Driver: GRID was quite poor with the steering wheel feel, so hoping its an improvement on that.
#38
are shopto reliable?

and do they send out grey imports?

anyone with experience of them?
#39
I've bought lots with them in the past and have never had a pre-order delivered to me after release date, usually a day or two before as a minimum. Their delivery methods are excellent, First Class Royal Mail delivery for free as standard. Pricing I find them top notch too, really pleased with their service over all.

Don't know if anyone will see this, but this deal should be unexpired as it's back in stock!

Just ordered it myself - can't wait!
