Terrible company, they make up fake and unnecessary repairs.

Use a proper MOT centre that only does mots.

Sorry OP but I'll never use them again having used them twice, and on both occasions on different cars they always found additional items with the final time resulting in them being a little inventive resulting in me sending the car to main agent and them finding nothing wrong!

The F1 Autocentre free "10 Point Winter Safety Check" usually equates to free "10 Point Desperately-Required Repairs Quotation".

who would loads of companies do this they fail things that shouldn't be a fail nobody Tales there licence away from them but if they passed a car that wasn't then that would be a different story. I have know not centre's whom have failed a car for rust and after the work has been done and some one painted over it they couldn't be bothered to checl the repairs and just failed it again took it to another place and it past just fine

Best to find a local garage who you can trust, I find a bit of customer loyalty goes a long way in getting an honest MOT.

Where shall i take my car for an mot F1 autocentre or kwikfit?
#23
Had MOT's and services at my local F1 without any issues, must be down to each different centre if people have had issues there.
#24
I took my car their for about 4 years. Never had a problem.

Comment was an observation on the general service received from F1AC that spills through to MoTs. Maybe you could un-derrrr the current random "Get Deal" image and use the appropriate one? :p

I agree with above, you will get a cheap mot or service with these guys and they come with a list as long as you arm with issues that need fixing! Not to be trusted, I speak from personal experience after taking a car for a second opinion and finding this out.
#27
with all the machines they use to mot test a car these days each mot tester will have to test wheel bearings and the like by experience and a lot of them will see a car of a certain age and mileage and just say feels like bearings are on way out

I have twice had a MOT centre mess with my car, to make it sound like it needed repairs; the first time I caught the guy with a crow bar, forcing my pads out of line, so the pads on the one wheel were dragging.

The second time they sprayed something onto the timing belt to make it squeal.

I know of several other people who have reported the first garage for similar cons since, yet they STILL have a licence to do MOTs.

I never leave my car unattended at MOTs now, no matter how good the garage are supposed to be, and if they say they have changed parts, I want to see the removed ones.

A VW dealership charged my sister for new front brake discs FOUR years on the trot; when I checked them, they were still the original factory ones.

Its nothing personal mate, you may have a great experience with them. Unfortunatley a lot of us on here dont share the same view.
