This seems like an offer too good to miss out for any speed freaks out there who have dreamed about riding an F1 car.

The offer used to be £159 plus delivery but Buyagift are now offering it for less than half price at a very cheap £75 for a 2 hour experience but the offer doesn't stop there, there's also a 25% voucher code available, reducing the price to £56.25 + £1.45 for delivery = £57.70 and don't forget to go through Quidco to receive 12% cashback as well, making this under £51 delivered.

Hope that helps. :)

I appologise, I thought it was F1 when I saw it was Formula Single Seater and I was extremely tired when I listed the deal last night.

Good deal. Hot.

Isn't Donington in Leicestershire?

It's also not quite what it seems.

The ad on the site says about exploiting potential to the full.

The small print says you're in groups of 4 behind the instructor. So no real exploiting of 'potential', even if you could go quicker.

Seems like if you want a real F1 experience you have to pay for it:

It's a bit like East Midlands Airport, in Leicestershire with a Derbyshire postcode, wishing it was in Nottinghamshire.

voted hot. just wish there was 1 on somewhere round here :x

anyone seenone for croft circuit?
#10
anyone know where in Lancashire the venue is?

Hmmm - very good price but not even near F1.....

Croft Circuit does a similar thing using Formula Renault cars. At Croft you have 5 or 6 laps round the circuit but the cars have a rev limiter which means you can't really go as fast as you think you might (or want).

Was really looking forward to my "experience" and although it was good I was a tiny bit dissappointed.....

You can do the day at Croft for £40 of Tesco clubcard vouchers....

I have been on this day at three sisters race track. You go out in a subaru impreza first with the instructor and 2 other drivers and the idea is that you learn the apex's. You all get a go then the instructor knows that you are capable of handling the track then in the afternoon you go out in the formula ford car. You start off racing at a slow pace following a pace car then gradually go faster and faster. Its a great day out and definately recommended at this price.
#13
hmm, got all excited about this as my boyfriend loves speed and we live close to three sisters - then I realised he can probably go faster in his focus ST than this! hey ho...

Damn, why did I vote on the basis of the OP. :x

I see the "F1 experience" was put in by the OP, and totally misleading. :-(

Can someone vote cold for me?
#15
there are also driving experience using tesco clubcard vouchers. see tescos website.

Agree that the title is very misleading and needs changing before anyone buys the 'F1 experience'.

just found the croft/tesco deal but i cant do it. i work for morrisons with a tesco over the road from us so i cant shop there! LOL I'm thinking at this price, even though it'd be a 2.5hr drive, i'll go for it and make a weekend of it.
3 sisters & donnington are the same distance from me so which would be better?

But this is a 2 hour experience....sounds like yours (ie most of a day event) was much better! Perhaps this is just a 'taster'
#20
I think you should go easy with your voting, nothing can offer a F1 experience apart from actually getting in a F1 car, but most people including me dont know how to drive fast properly. Yup, I can drive fast in my car, but that is nothing like proper fast, and safe, driving.
If it is the same £159 session, now reduced down to £57.70, it is a proper bargain, even if it is not the experience that you are after.

Rant over.

If it was in Notts, they would allow you to go faster so that you could outrun the local gangsta's trying to "pop a cap in yo ass". :whistling:

If you do decide to do this (it seems a good deal to me by the way) - please ensure that you book early to avoid missing out on your dates if you look at the smallprint you can only book between Feb-May next year and dates book up early (Saturdays only I believe) as I found out to my cost last year when I missed out on and was unable to book myself in.............
#24
Ok mate cheers i'll have to give him a ring once it all arrives!

There is also a Ferrari experience which has been reduced to £75. I'd personally prefer to do this than the other one:

Does it fit someone who's 6'3"?
Looks like a really good deal - voted hot!

Sounds like a good deal to me. Think the F1 experience was nearly £1500 when I looked into it so this may be a cheaper alternative for starters :)

Edit : Just noticed the same experience is reduced to £74.99 on Play.com.

Anyone have a link to the small print? I cant find any age restrictions (usually over 21 + UK Driving License), as i'm 16 and sort of have a license (ie a CBT :X) and thought this might be quite fun (used to a fair bit of karting, and considering i paid ~£30 to drive half an hour and a half enduro race in a rental 240 cc kart this is a good deal)
#34
i'm pretty sure its not 2 hours - says you'll be driving an excillerating 13 miles - so maybe 20 mins?

Don't think they usually allow people without a full driving license to do it for insurance reasons. I cant find anything on the website though so it may be worth getting in touch with them and asking.

I have done the ferrari experience recently at Nottingham
Its run by Everyman racing.

I turned up at 11am, 11:30 ushered into a room that explains safety and the track, with a quick overview of the cars.

then about 15 mins later was in a BMW saloon with 2 others, this was the 2 instructor laps, it was quite a relaxed pace round the track.

After this it was onto the ferrari, you just jump straight in, do 4 laps and that is it.

Was only £50 so would say it was worth it, but anything more than that would be a bit expensive.
#37
Shame they're all in the north.

Jakg:I can't believe you're only 16! You certainly know you're stuff when it comes to computing (I'm thinking of your comments on my freezing problem on the LFS Forum (Nick A) )

I rang them up (buyagift) and they say there's no minimum age, but I doubt you'll be going without a full license so effectively the minimum is 17. A CBT's not a license mate, it's a stepping stone on the way to getting your bike license
