My littlun saw this in Tesco yesterday and asked if he could have it. A quick barcode scan revieled the £20 Tesco price tag was over inflated and that it's a tenner in ASDA and another place (posted as a deal on here.)

Reviews seem to suggest it's not a good game...... Can anyone comment?

Not sure what reviews you're looking at, this is one of the best driving games there are.

Meta Critic score of 92/100 Meta Critic

I've owned it since release day, it's fantastic, and unlike Gran Turismo, every car has a fully modelled interior, and every car has the same level of high detail. The tracks also looks worthy of the hardware they're running on.

Ditto Darkle's comments. It's a fantastic driving game and well worth the money. Buy it, play it enjoy it. If not, just sell it on eBay for around the same as you paid for it.

Hot!

Ok cheers guys.... The "reviews" were from comments in the last time this was posted for a tenner on here.

Best game of it's type on any of the consoles. Beats GT5 hands down.

Is all the content on the extra disk and then the top gear card is just for a few random mini extras?

I bought this last week from ebay for £13 I already have forza 3 but didnt want to spend £20+ getting the car download packs! comes with scratch card for the sitgs garage pack (3 cars + couple of top gear vids) some say he is the cause of gt5 fail, some say he caused the ps3 outage when he saw how dire the experiance was all we know is he is called the stig!

This game might be a few years old but there are still hundreds of people playing it on live.

Just dont expect this game to play like NFS or any of the other arcade racer games. It is about as real to driving as you can get at the moment. the tune manager gives 1000's of options on how to make yuor car handle and perform better.

if anyone already has this and is looking for some decent clean racing add me on live: roblade Mostly race in B class tuned or german touring cars R3 stock (no upgrades or tunes).

ROB :)

Whilst the driving model isn't quite as refined as GT5's and it doesn't have replays that are quite as pretty, Forza 3 is superior in every other department. Can't wait for the sequel!

Yes the top gear stuff is a redeemable code in the box.

I think that I lean towards the PS3 in the majority of cases, however, Forza 3 is lightyears ahead of GT5 in terms of its ease of use and online capabilities. I don't think any PS3 fanboy can make a case for GT5, Polyphony Digital really messed up given the vast amount of time they had to construct the game. Besides, a true PS3 fanboy would never play an Xbox exclusive so their opinion is utterly voided.

This is perhaps, in my opinion, the best driving racing game in terms of realisticness (if that's a word). The sheer amount of work that has gone into the game to make it as realistic as possible to the real thing, from the car to the actual real-life tracks itself makes this the best racing game, not to mention the level of graphics in this game. Of course there are many other great racing games out there and is down to personal taste of what makes a good game.

Asides from sounding like I play this game 24/7 :| , the price reduction is perhaps down to the reason that the next version of this game will be released this coming October.

Yes, but it doesn't though.

GT5 is a far superior game.

'Realism'.

The makers of GT5 put far more work into making the tracks and cars as realistic as possible, believe me.

This is a good game, and of course it's a good deal. I'm only pointing out that GT5 is widely considered to be much the more realistic driving/racing experience. I've racked up considerable hours on both games and there's a clear winner in terms of realism. I think the comment by my friend summed it up. "GT5 is more realistic, but in Forza you can add custom decals to your car".

I never found realistic racers much fun until I sunk a bit of effort into this game. It's extremely rewarding, I picked my non ultimate copy up for £6 but wish I'd had got the Ultimate Edition, especially for £4 more!

^^ But is it 5yrs and £60m better?!?!? That will be a big no then!! GT5 SHOULD have been THE definitive racing title, as it is its just not. Polyphony (unfortunately 'cos I wanted GT5 to be good) have got massive egg on their face for this and should be ashamed, comparing Forza3 to GT5 should have been impossible, the fact that they are says it all IMHO :D

Played both but still prefer GT5 (with my new Driving Force GT!)
Forza is more user friendly, but lacks the depth.
Hot deal though.

As long as you know forza 4 comes out in october 11, definatly worth £10 as it was racing game of the year 2009, more simulator than the Need for Speed games.

If only Microsoft had a decent Logitech Wheel, whilst the MS official wheel isn't bad, it is not a patch on the Driving Force GT for a similar price.

Luckly (probably not luck) Forza doesnt really punish you in the same way GT5 does for going off the racing line or onto the grass.

Been waiting for this to drop, its €15 pre owned in my local without any DLC or anything! Cheers OP

Love this game, there's so much to do and you can earn credits while you're not even playing it, best type of racing game really.
#27
if you want some fun go on "tag" online, (tig to you and me) its so much fun it stops you playing anything else even if your a bad driver you can win just stay away from the "it" cars

There's the Fanatec Turbo S and GT2 wheels that work with the 360 (And PC/PS3)
They're not cheap but I'm really impressed with mine. Got it fixed to a VR3 and you're right, the MS wheel is ok but not a patch on a G25/G27 or Fanatec IMO!

Yep, I was meaning the comparison between the £70 Microsoft Wheel and the Driving Force GT though, I personally would not want to spend any more on wheels, but can understand those dedicated that do!. Just a shame that although not bad, the Microsoft wheel is not a patch on the Logitech GT for a similar price...really wish the GT could be used on the 360.

Lucky guys!

Please reserve a thought for motorcycle gamers while you discuss the best wheel set ups :p
