Dont forget quidco!!

Forza Motorsport 3 is the definitive racing game. All 400-plus cars in the game have been built with more than 10 times the amount of polygons as Forza Motorsport 2. This includes painstakingly researched cockpits and interiors for every vehicle. But realism isn't just about pretty graphics. Turn 10 takes realism to new heights, with the most advanced physics model, artificial intelligence and damage calculations. Whether it's the differences in how each car handles through the corners, how the engines sound at top speed or how different tires and upgrades impact your car's performance, you'll find yourself leaning into your turns as if you were really behind the wheel of your favourite ride.

Forza Motorsport 3 rises above the distinction between simulation and arcade games. Using a myriad of cutting-edge driving and gameplay assists such as auto-braking, game play rewind and auto-tuning, Forza 3 delivers an experience where everyone can have fun behind the wheel, regardless of your skill and dexterity. Whether you're a newcomer or a seasoned racing game pro, Forza Motorsport 3 caters to how you drive and evolves with you over time as your skills increase.

Scorching.

Price is coming down nicely.
#3
Can be had for £16.14 if you're a More Than customer...... shame I've already got it though.
#4
Good price for a massive game. I've been playing it for over 60 hours and am only 47% complete :w00t:
#5
Big heat from me
#6
no comparison to gran turismo 5, but at this price you can't go wrong. hot!
#7
Yes why is the price come down so fast? Recession still a problem?
Gears 1 took more than 2 years to go below £18

Would that be the GT5 that's not even out yet and keeps getting put back with delay after delay?

Gran Turismo 5 has been in development for 5 years now, Forza was what about 2, just over 2 years. GT5 has to outperform Forza by miles as they are putting in a lot of effort and time to to develop this game.

Fanboyism gone mad.... The same GT5 that may eventually be released one day....

You might as well say GT5 will be no comparison to the real thing as the alternative isn't an option....

would that be GT5 prologue or before, which has no car damage and allows you to use the other cars as giant air bags without punishment, and isnt any better than forza anyway

OR

the mythical GT5 full which does have said damage on a few of the cars, but is also coming out alongside duke nukem for ever and Elite IV?

please, if you are going to compare it to a game, (which there is no need to anyway other than to stir) at least do it to one which exists :)

Thing is, it WILL be better than Forza 3, like someone else said, it HAS to be!!!! What a lot of PS3 fanboys can't understand is that, that does not make this a crap game!!

I have the 360 but I can see that the PS3 is also a cracking machine, if GT5 is as good as its supposed to be I might consider buying a PS3, it was a close call at christmas as I thought the Eye pet looked amazing.... its not, its unresponsive and CRAP, I'll therefore hold judgement until we ACTUALLY see the game, if we ever do

it doesnt have to be at all, i HOPE it is, but the fact it is suffering delay after delay tells me they may have tried push the ps3 beyond what it is reliably capable of and they have backed themselves into a corner.

I remember a similar thing happening (though not over as long a time scale) with halflife on the dreamcast. In the end it was canned and i did play the pre-release code once and it was awful (dont get me wrong, am sure this wont be but i just do not see it knocking spots off forza... )

The biggest weakness in forza is lack of weather, and now it turns out that has been removed from GT5, which is a MASSIVE problem as that for me at least was a HUGE selling point.

Am I the only person that thinks GT5 (or the Gran Turismo series) has lost track of how to make a 'fun' game? 14 minutes of the nuurberg ring with 2mm of tire on the grass = try again. I think Forza has just the right balance of Simulaton/Fun ratio.

Just an opinion.

You're missing my point. In saying it HAS to be I mean that Sony and Polyphony cant afford to release a sub-perfect game now after all the promises and delays. It will be a MASSIVE own goal if their 'premiere' title turns out to be cack!

I personally I still cant see it creaming Forza3, it will still probably be better, given the fact that development time is over double that of Forza3 you'd exoect that, but will it be the "god" of driving games?!?!? only time will tell. Maybe we will still be here when its released :p

It is what it is....... a simulation. Some find Forza3 too [email protected] saying crap like "its not as good as Burnout Paradise cos its not as quick" I find Forza3 just about right (especially with the "auto upgrade" option.

One thing that kinda ruins Forza3 in my eyes is the unlimited rewind, its just tooo easy to keep trying the corner until you get it right, but that does not encourage you to learn the tracks and handling characteristics of each car (to be honest I dont have time for that so I dont really care :p).

The only other game I can think of that took so long to create was Perfect Dark Zero. Aeons do not a great game make (read in a Yoda voice).

i have to be honest and say, if you want a true racing sim you have to go pc.

iracing or rfactor are better sims than you will ever see on a console.

a console racer has to bear in mind most will play on a pad, and you just cannot get the same control on a pad as you can a wheel - imagine driving a real car @ 220mph with an xbox or dual shock pad!!!!

imo console racers will always be hybrid arcade/sim games. its the nature of the beast.

Defo, but PC gaming comes at a price many arent willing to pay, new games require new hardware etc but you're right, the pad is the main issue, suppose thats why they have aim assist on console Call of Duty?!? I'd never get a hit without it

LOL I dont seem to get many WITH it ;)

ps incase you were wondering, forza 3 unsurprisingly is far far more enjoyable on the wheel (i have the official one and it works superb with this game)

what IS surprising, is unlike some racers, its easy to get as good a laptimes on the pad as it is on the wheel.

i am wondering if there is some hidden extra assist turned on which is removed if you use the wheel. i had a muck around on my big telly using the pad. it took me almost an hour to match the laptime i got doign that when using my wheel on my main set up.

Defo, but PC gaming comes at a price many arent willing to pay,

This is completely false logic. Most people have a PC and you can EASILY for the price of a console turn a PC into a decent gaming machine and you don't need to upgrade every month to be able to play decent games either. PLUS with PC games being cheaper to buy it's actually cheaper in the long run to buy PC games.
The smartest thing console makers ever did was spread the misinformation that a gaming PC is massively expensive to build. OTOH I bought myself a 360 last Friday purely for Forza 3 because it strikes a good balance between fun and a sim with of course more of a balance towards fun, but the handling is still good :) Works well as a media extender too, can't go wrong for £99

Duke Nukem Forever has been in development since 1997... So that should be the best game ever made when it's released right?

Yeah. you've got to love the logic or lack thereof shown by some people on this site. Some people simply don't have the ability to consider more than one factor when making their mind up between different products. That's why a load of people decreed that the PS3 was the best next gen console before the 360 , PS3 and Wii had even been launched...... it's the most powerful on paper so it's got to be the best right?

Its not false logic, Im no PC noob, I build the things FFS  My point is that the initial setup of a decent home PC is at least 3-4 times that of a 360 plus you will NEVER be forced to buy a new graphics card to play a 360 game, can we say the same with PC's (certainly not the case with Crysis 2 unless you wanted to play in "jerky-vision"!!) PC gaming is in my opnion, superior on a lot of platforms BUT I can't be bothered with the fuss. So much easier to buy ANY 360 game which ALWAYS works and looks cool on a big screen.... my opinion but factually it is sound

*sigh* you completely missed the point. If you're already getting a PC you spend the money you would have spent on a 360 which at launch was £279 and then you also use the money you save from buying cheaper games and not needing pricey accessories then you could upgrade from a gutless machine that's only good for www and excel and have a pretty sweet gaming PC.

SIGH.... not EVERYBODY has or even wants (yes there are some who can live without them) a PC in the first place though  Had you mentioned that your comment only related to those already in the process of buying a PC then yes, to some degree you're right. HOWEVER, you state £279 an launch, well just how many upgrades to a Mid gaming PC would have been needed to keep up with new games in the years since the 360 was launched?!?!? Lets compare apples with apples at least

Stock being thick, please. I said that the cheapness of the games will also help with keeping up as well. Anyway if you choose your components wisely you will only need a graphics card upgrade or two and some ram and you'll keep up with things more or less.

Why is "stock" thick?! Just because you can't come back with a half sensible response does not mean that you can insult, you're not on 'WoW' now you know

You were the one who quoted an unrealistic price for the 360 just to justify your answer, I just pulled you up on it!! as they say, 'dont hate the player, hate the game' If you can tell me where I can buy even a HALF decent PC for £100 WHICH IS THE CURRENT COST OF A 360, I will take your point. Unfortunately, you wont be able to except in Lalaland which is I guess where you must reside :whistling: Also, what happens (as has been the case many times so far) when the "standard" changes?? You say its a simple case of upgrading the graphics card or the RAM, what if the "upgrade" needs more power?? You NEED a new PSU! Perhaps the graphics card needs a different slot (try fitting an AGP card into a PCI slot Einstein!)....the answer, a NEW MOTHERBOARD!!! Soon starts to add up dunnit, certainly outweighs the small software saving (am I still being thick here or do you want me to continue?!?!?).

Basically, you're defending your little toy, which is respectable in the playground but we're adults. Yes PC's are good (if a little geeky) but no matter what you say, on planet earth they are SUBSTANTIALLY more expensive than the consoles end of

Stock, I meant to say stop.

Anyway you're a fool. Let's say a cheap PC costs 300-400 which you're already spending. Xbox was 270(we're talking when it was released). So that means you've got an extra 270 to spend on RAM, a better PSU, better and a graphics card. If you want to be silly we can call it ~180 for an elite. You also save money on the games which are CHEAPER on PC by at least £10 usually and depending on how many you buy that can be a serious amount of money. Sure if you're upgrading then £270 is probably not going to get you far but if you add it on at the time of purchase you'll get a very decent machine. You talk about using AGP cards? WTF? When did you last open up a PC case???? AGP's been dead for ages and we're onto PCI-E 2 now....

You seem to intentionally misunderstand what I'm talking about to prove your lame point
