Great deal from Merlin for some top end mountain bike forks:

2009 Fox 32 F120 RL forks
New crowns, steerers, and lower legs
all add up to a lighter and stiffer cross country weapon. Our race proven and improved damping gives riders velcro traction and steering precision while providing seamless transitions from compression to rebound.

Our 120 mm model is the lightest fork in its class, perfect for longer travel XC bikes, marathon racers, and light duty trail bikes. Look for the new F-Series at the front of the pack.

These forks may have a slight mark where the crown race fits as we where going to fit them to bikes, they however where not fitted and are totally new.

* NOTE: the fork differs slightly form the picute in that the lockout is on top of the fork leg and not a remote system as shown*

I'm sure these are the biz, but way outa my price range :-(

I could do with some new front forks as well. Mine recently started rattling like a pair of maracas (sounds like caged bearings moving about?) and I have no experience with front suspension. Have always had rigid forks before. My forks still have the same bounce/play in them, they just don't dampen the shock of the rough surface anymore.

Anyone recommend a decent 'budget' alternative to this deal?

rufus bezak,

How much travel do you need? I've got a set of 100mm Marzocchi MX Pro's which are good and Marzocchi have a good reputation (Although the MZ's are rubbish).

For 120mm you could try hunting around for some Rockshox deals. Anything made by Fox is going to be excellent, but expensive. If you want a deal, wait for the end of season and see if you can pickup an 2010 model as the 2011 versions come in.
