I'm looking to put together a little htpc and whilst waiting for the price to drop on other options (asgard\elite) i came across this. Seems the cheapest place to buy atm.

You can find a review for it here:

One major advantage of this case is that it can take a full sized atx PSU, which should save you some hassle.

I was looking at this but wanted to lay it on its side and I don't think I can as the usb ports are one side and extraction vents the other.

Would anyone recommend laying it down?

Power and reset button along with 2 usb and audio input/outputs is on the right hand side. Wouldn't recommend laying it down.

Absolutely. The side vent is only there to give you the option of adding your own fan anyway. Looking at the design the back vent is well placed so that it could easily act as an exhaust for the CPU and video card. According to the specs you just need to install a 92mm (very common) case fan.

Should I buy this case that's exactly what I'll be doing anyway. The buttons on the side just beg for that orientation.

See i thought that too but then you would be lying the components upside down so the cpu fan would pull at the mobo as its hanging upsided down.

i would lay it flat on the side with the ports etc but let them lay over the edge of the place you store it and keep it discrete.
