firmish

the very top few that are not beneath water tend to be soggy

keeping them very chilled helps

I used to hate olives, but I forced myself to like them, well the green ones. Today I bought some bit in and wham there was a stone. Unnatural I thought and crikey my teeth hurt, I'm not an olive connoisseur. I thank this deal as it obliges me an easy life. Thankfully I was at home and was saved the ignominy from chomping on a pit.

Yes becareful, an olive is not just an olive, The firmness is important as they get soft they become sour, means they are going off

Not bad for the price but not the greatest olives.
It is worth mentioning you have 2 varieties of pitted olives available, stuffed with pimento (pepper) or without stuffing.

You were lucky, an olive stone cost me the price of a crown! They were supposed to be pitted and i bit down and ahhhh! Wasn't these though.

Prefer the pimento ones myself, but a good deal for me either way. As much as I love green olives, i'm not keen on black olives. Lots of nice bits and bobs like this in home bargains. The grilled red peppers in a jar are also one of my regular home bargain buys.
