"Master of the cruel one-liner"--Evening Standard
"His eye for absurdity is as sharp as his suits"--Guardian

Critically acclaimed comedian Frankie Boyle presents his hotly-anticipated first live stand-up DVD. Recorded live during his sell-out shows at London’s Hackney Empire, Frankie’s unique brand of observational comedy and brutal but perfectly constructed one-liners prove he is one of the best gag writers in the business.

As the stand out act on top-rated satirical comedy show Mock The Week, the sharp-suited Scotsman shows us just a slice of what he’s capable of. In this DVD he unleashes his razor-sharp wit upon the audience with jokes that are too near the knuckle for TV, constantly venturing onto thin ice with outrageous jibes that could be utterly offensive if not delivered with equal measures of visceral cheek and sarcasm, demonstrating the full force of his comic prowess.

Extras:
**** You Scotland – behind the scenes tour diary
Sketches from BBC3 comedy Rush Hour
Drug experiment – additional audio material

"Next Cheapest - HMV £5.99"

You know you'd get 5% Quidco if you bought this from HMV, equivalent to being 29p cheaper @ HMV?

SOME of it not by any stretch ALL of it.

Shame there was so much in the show that the people in charge wouldn't put on the DVD like:

Unlikely things to hear at a dinner party:

"Hang on a minute if we're all here who's looking after Madeleine?"

or

Talking about Shannon Matthews he said:

"The mingers always come home"

anyway.....

nice find

I like Frankie Boyle.

What I want to know is who is paid for coming up with the DVD sleeve design for standup comedy DVD's.

They are all truely aweful.

Thanks another stocking filler xx

Tv repeats for £5.98, not bad.
#17
Noticed he no longer does the stand-up part on Mock the Week.

Must be saving his material for his next tour and DVD. Pity it isn't out for Xmas his year.

Won't be seeing him on there anymore. He's quit Mock the Week, to "work on other projects".

So the 'Daily Mail' brigade have finally managed to neuter British TV by getting the BBC watershed pushed back an hour and forcing people like Frankie Boyle off the TV.

The same kind of people who probably think Jim Davidson was a wholesome family entertainer.

Supposedly he was discouraged by the state of hypocritical TV and media censorship - according to quotes he thought it's not even a case of people taking offense - it's just boring people wanting boring TV...

He was hilariously often quoted during the 'Manuelgate' affair with his Mock the Week joke of the queen being so old, her pu*sy is haunted.

MTW will certainly be poorer without him if he leaves.

Do agree there is a LOT of rehashing of previous material (not necessarily bad) and obvious scripting in MTW, no more than other similar shows. Noticed Hugh Dennis (and David Baddiel elsewhere come to that) often rehashing gags from The Mary Whitehouse Experience :)

Still a bargain and good Xmas present, so hot.
