Saw in store today. All flavours were £1. Picked up a steak one, because I don't like Kidney.

Meat pie in a tin...

Nice!

Didn't think they still made these - we used to take these to our caravan holidays about 30 years ago! Bet they're still as gross. Good price though - as they cost about £1 back then as well.

I rank these just above ginsters pasties. Rank being the key word.

We took them to our caravan around the same time too.
We could never get the crust brown though. Anyway, back
to the subject in hand. These seem a good price.
Hot.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one, I love these pies well steak & kidney & steak & ale ones. The pastry and gravy is lovely. I've never been in the unfortunate position to need to taste pedigree chum so cannot comment on the similarity that others are stating.lol.

dont believe hardly anyone seems to like these. I have tried loads of horrible frozen pies but these are great. In fact I happen to have a curry one in the oven as I write. Fantastic. Oh and yes Asda have had these on offer for about 8 weeks now. Bargain!
#15
hmmm lovely
gonna get my fanta pop in to go with these
#16
Oh yes. Fray Bentos snake & sidney pies with tinned new potatoes and tinned marrowfat peas. With piccallili. Their steak & kidney suet puddings are just as tastylicious!

Voted hot I like them, have always liked them and your cupboard isnt complete unless you have at least one lurking in the back as an emergency ration.

I would rather eat a COLD 'chicken soup' pastie from Greggs (Dreggs).

Got to say though, these are delicious, their "just steak" version is just yummy

My son has been asking me to get this for him. I keep forgetting as a pie in a tin is not something I tend to look for when shopping but his grandad gave him it and he liked it. Think my dad said that the "just steak" is a limited edition or something though?!?!?

I love pies :)

Drown your sorrows with a box of these beauties Frank. He's lickin' his lips already!

Well i like them, i get constant stick from the other half but you cant beat a bentos steak pie, homemade chips and bread n butter mmmmmmmm
#28
Seems to be a North/South divide, height of fine dining Oop North, dog food to the more developed southern palate.
#29
Ooooh now I like this. The minced beef & onion is my particular favourite.

Now if only I could get Goblin Meat Puddings still, i'd be in my element! :)
#30
Check out the fat content on the side of the tin, shockingly high. Im not a big fan of pastry topped pies, I prefer mash :)

Honestly, if the smell is anything to go by, your pie WILL taste better than Fray bentos.

Goblin! Didn't they used to make burgers in a tin as well? Ah the memories :w00t:

These are horrid. The pastry goes all soggy!

I actually felt slightly embarrassed when my wife got some to give to our local foodbank!
