Ok I know this deal has been running for some time & most of you will already know about it.
But for those new members or anyone who might have missed it before, its a great deal so well worth a new mention.

When you transfer a number from any other network to Orange PAYG, they will give you £10 free credit.

This is great for anyone wanting to go on Orange PAYG or just for a spare sim with free £10 credit on.

Just use a sim card from another network that you no longer want or get a free sim from somewhere & ask the Network Operator for a PAC code.

Then register a new Orange sim card & tell the operator that you want to use your existing number & claim £10 free credit. Give them the PAC code that youve just been told by the other network operator & Jobs a goodun :-)

It always takes a few days before your £10 appears but Ive done it several times now & never any problem.

What has this got to do with a free £10 credit for transferring a PAYG number to them?

It seems that there is also another feee £2.50 to be had, although the instructions are unclear :-

"Out of credit? No problem - No problem - you've still got £2.50 in your Reserve Tank. Just text TANK 2002 to set it up. Now you've got no excuse not to call your mum. ..."

Does tha mean to text the word Tank to 2002 ??

ive tried this and is very hard to get pac code from a new sim card! they ask you to top up first, then u can request a pac code!

Sounds like you've just spoken to T-Mobile, just ignore what they say and ring back another time and see if you get lucky.

They will take the £2.50 back next time you top up. It's just for emergency purposes really.

Do I have to buy the phone in order to take advantage of this deal though? I'd want just the sim card, and use my current handset - unlocked.

£5 from Quidco too for PAYG !

Orange are *****, worst network coverage out of everyone.

Have you tried every network, and have you tried everywhere? :whistling:

Where I live Orange is best coverage.

With Vodafone you have to stand in the middle of the main road, which I find is not really safe or convenient.
#16
Or they just happen to bodge the number transfer so you spend 25p calling them to get them to sort then even after wasting another 25p trying to find where the £10 is still haven't received.
#17
The last time I purchased orange I had to wait nearly 3 months for the initial £10 credit to be applied, I got a bit annoyed at having to keep phoning and emailing them chasing it.
Not voting because it will be a good deal to some, just be prepared is all I can say.

I must admit, when I got my current phone I had to fight with them to get my £10. But it was like a verbal war, not a physical one. Also, it was not really a war, more like two phone calls to their CS where I insisted that they had the power to add the £10 to my phone immediately. On the second call they caved in. :whistling:

Asda sim cards are 50p, with 25p credit on them, just use those.

I used new Virgin sim cards each time, never a problem.
Put a new sim card in my unlocked phone, called Virgin to register the number & in the same phone call asked for a PAC code. They always asked why I didn't want to stay with Virgin, a couple of times I said because the Virgin coverage was poor & other timesI told them that Orange were offering £10 ;-)
They never argued & gave me a PAC code there & then each time.

Yeah, whatever you do, don't do any business with Orange. They are crooks, plain and simple.

They tried to do the same with me, except they actually took the money out of my account and I had to threaten to go to court to get it back. Took ages aswell.
#23
You have to call an 0870 number to do the transfer though, which is presumably at a premium rate. You can try this number instead 0800 0797777, which I got off the "saynoto0870" website!
#24
I believe 3 are doing this as well.
#25
just done and sorted, took 3 calls... grrrrrr
1st call - "i dont know of this offer so i cant offer it to you"
2nd call - "Where did you find this offer? buy sim card from internet first"
3rd Call - "Yes I will give you £10 credit in 7 days and £1 credit for registering, thank you"

Says alot about customer service, guess they arent robots after all.
Key info: make sure you tell them youve seen the offer on the orange website but cannot ring the 0870 number because it is out of order.
#26
which number did u dial? if not the 0870?
#27
I received a txt when I popped in a new PAYG orange sim card. I wasn't planning to transferring in my existing number to get the £10 but just posting to let people know that you can just say you received a text like I did if they ask you where you got the info.

Dial 450, pretend to top up, type in any 12 or less digits, after 4 tries it will transfer you to customer services, they register that new orange sim card then transfer you to another department where you give them the PAC code. Just done it, easy and free. Was told the money will be on the card within 10 days. Got 5 more sims to do. I also got 4 free orange sim cards within 5 days for free from the orange website, and got a few asda sims too. Will not have to pay for phone credit for quite some time.

just transferred my blyk number to orange

Fantastic deal. Just recently got two Orange sims from the GoMobile giveaway which I've since registered for a free £5 credit on each + £2 TopCashBack for ordering.

Saw this offer in the booklet that came with the sims and also received a text regarding it today.

Two questions:

1. How many sims am I allowed to port over for the free £10?

2. Once I've registered several sims can I transfer the credit over onto one single sim? (ie. port over 5 sims to initially gain £10 credit on each sim, then move all that credit onto one single sim resulting in £50 on that particular sim).

is this offer still on
