You only need to topup once to qualify, how is this cold?
#2
Dunno I've heated you towards 0 again. Compared with O2 text and web (500mb on top up) or three (150mb on top up) seems great. I wasn't gonna bother getting one of these as I saw their unlimited internet ended soon, but this is as good as unlimited. Hopefully they'd extend it again in December.
#3
Unlimited internet without an FUP is staying on any of the £10+ a month goodybags/bundles :)
#4
Seriously hot, GiffGaff customers who joined at the start will therefore have over 13 months of free internet even if the offer ends by 1st December but it's been extended so many times now, I doubt it'll end even then!
#5
Oo Dw :) cant get one

Thanks for this. No harm in ordering the free sim, but to activate you must topup £10.

I guess my sim cutter will come handy here as I am sure this SIM will not be a micro sim :p
#7
+ if you find a friend that is on giffgaff, get them to send you a sim, as you get £5 credit. But I won't go into too much detail, seeing as referring is frowned upon here. :)

nice find

I am with GG and cannot fault them.

I have also got a couple of friends to join - but there seems to be a bit of an issue with registering just now as so many seem to be joining.

If you want to join - go to their site then their forum - and ask for a sim.

Both you and the person sending you the sim will get a fiver credit.

So your first tenners credit combined with current offers could get you two months of 300 minutes - unlimited texts for two months - unlimited internet for two months - then 100meg a day after that until december.

If you do not use a Finaria/Betamax VOIP company - thats close to unlimited VOIP until december for a tenner (plus your cost to the VOIP company too).

Micro sims are available - just go to the forum that acts as most of the customer services and say that's what you want. You should have it in a day or two.

Yeaah GiffGaff ftw, I highly recommend them :) Heat added. They have extended the half price summer deal again by 5 days! And they just love extending the free internet deal ( was until the 1st of October):D
#13
The only problem I ever have with GiffGaff is telling people which provider you are with... "WHO?!?"

Hot deal.
#14
Is it difficult to transfer a number to them?

Is it difficult to transfer a number to them?

No it's very easy, insert sim and topup to register it. Then fill out the details to change number in your account. In a few days the number gets transferred, meanwhile you can use the original number that giffgaff have attributed to the sim card.

One thing I just noticed looking at GiffGaff's pricing is that text updates to twitter are free. I don't use twitter but maybe that's of some use to someone. I also don't know how that compares to other networks. EDIT : I see the OP already posted this information.

If I buy the green goody bag, currently half price so its £5, will I get £10 credit (free internet)?

Also how can I request a micro sim from them?

...Thanks OP, H+R ;)

Come on keep up it's not difficult :P j/k.

Goody bags are not credit per se, they are set tariff which expires after a month. So a £10 goody bag on sale for £5 gets you 100 mins, free texts, free internet and free giff gaff to giff gaff calls for a month When you topup you can use that money to buy a goodybag or just use the topup as credit. This following link explains the pricing and hence the difference between credit and goodybags.

http://giffgaff.com/index/pricing

Use the giffgaff forums to find out about and request a micro sim

It makes sense to go for the £7.50 deal if you want the extra 200 mins it affords you.

Am not sure about the first part, but i can tell you that giffgaff don't offer precut microsims atm so you will have to cut it yourself using the template provided on giffgaff forums or get someon else to do it (people on ebay selling pre-cut sims for 0.01p)

You get free internet until the start of December now anyway - so just topping up to activate your sim is all you need, but the minimum is £10 - and the current 50% off offers run until the 5th of September now. On the 6th Sept - there are new packages introduced - including a months unlimited everything for £30 down from £35, an new 600 mins and unlimited texts and net for £20 - and pay £5 to get all your calls and texts priced at 2p and 1p for the month after (you are still getting free net with everything just now). The 100 mins and unlimited text and net for a tenner will then offer 150 mins - but obviously buying two lots of the current deal at 50% the price, and queuing the second one makes better sence.

Also - if you go to the GG forum, and just post a message saying you want a micro sim - and you will find someone will send a pre cut one to you in a to probably arrive by monday or tuesday so they can get a fiver added to their account as well as one to yours.

Its breaking the rules here to do referrals etc - you would need to go to the GG forum to ask.

http://community.giffgaff.com/

If you get stuck - there is an "ibiza" there too you can ask for help.

if i buy a green bag for £5 i get unlimited internet yeah?
I know you get it as standard till Dec 1st but want to make sure it comes with the green bag as standard aswell for after DEC 1st.

also is there anything to stop me buying 12 green bags now at £5 and lining them up for the next 12 months?
#26
Yes, you do.
No tethering or iPads though, mobile phones only.

Only allowed 2 goodybags at a time. One for this month and one for next.
Been with giffgaff since January and I'm loving it. ;)

Also on Giffgaff for my HTC Desire, wanted it for the internet bundle, excellent, no complaints. Now my daughter is on and has the £17.50 bundle, unlimited calls, texts and internet for a month.

Calls between us are free...I need to top up my goody bag today actually. I realised I don't need that much in the goody bag as I had over 120 minutes left over which I didn't use last time, so I'll go for a cheaper option this month.

Tethering is prohibited. So yes you can do it but giffgaff don't want you to do it. I don't know what penalty they impose if they catch you.

As per my reply above, a giffgaff sim is for use in a mobile phone only, tethering is prohibited.

No it doesn't - but you'll likely earn the £5 discount in payback if you participate in the forums.

Yes - its quite easy to tell if you're tethering - they then just cut the number off, no questions asked.

Can't use these sims for iPads or Mifi chaps :-(

from GG T&Cs:-

Are O2 to giffgaff calls treated as "same network" or "cross network"?
