i always think these things are useless - first you need to live near a mccolls or martins, and then get to it early enough to buy the paper and frantically cut out the voucher and then also hope the store has some stock of tea bags because im sure they wont get too many extra in stock.
its one reason ive never bothered with any of these deals.
#6
yeah not point cos they wont have any stock and a waste if u buy paper specially.... ok if u get it anyways....

35p for the daily express
#8
hot if you near a Martin's etc. and you manage to get some.

Good question for someone at D Express to answer!

when this shop did an offer on before xmas near me the staff had cut of the tokens themselves so then the customers had a choice if they wanted the free item then they took a paper with the token already cut of and if not they took a whole paper.very simple and saved customers a load of time.

i agree with the comments above about these offers only being useful if the named stores are within easy reach.

for anyone within easy reach of kentish town there's a bargain store on the left hand side as one walks down from the tube station towards camden - i think it's immediately after barclays bank if memory serves - which is currently selling typhoo tea bags £2.40 for packs of 300.

i wondered if they were counterfeit to begin with but they look and taste like normal tea bags so i guess they're the real thing (cancelled export deal - reimported from abroad?).

typoo tea bags yuk!
but great deal if you like them

Just got this at the McColl shop near me. The assistant pointed it out when I bought the paper.

The tea-bags she gave me are Typhoo "one-cup" if that means anything to anyone. I will try them in a bit although I'm no tea connossieur!

just out of curiosity has anyone got a mapof UK where these shops are located on it?

They are a newsagents http://www.martinmccoll.co.uk/

'MARTIN, McCOLL, RS McCOLL' are the 3 names the shops operate under.

The McCOLL I went to didn't stock the boxes of tea bags so they were accepting the voucher for Terrys Chocolate Orange instead.

Yummy alternative.

One cup are very light taste not so good

They do these generous offers with small shops as they don't have to give away so much money - if they included Tesco, ASda etc, it'd break the express.

Those who can't get the offer are supposed to think "Wow! What a kind and giving paper, even though I cannot take advantage of their wonderful generosity on this occasion"

And be warned, Typhoo one-cup means exactly that; make it in a mug and it's weak as ...
(Tetley one-cup is much better) These usually sell at 100 for £1 in 99p/Poundland.

But hotted for those near the right shops who like weak tea!

Taste not good according to other half. Personally I can't tell the diff. But I am not allowed to buy these.
#24
As if some free tea bags makes up for the £200 increase in fuel prices!
#25
I don't like Spanish tea all that much.
#26
Went to my local martins they only had boxes of 100s only, they would only ex vouchers for 100bags asked for 2 boxes of 100s they would only give 1 box !
#27
Is this redeemable for today only or can you redeem at anytime after?
#28
The lady behind the counter cut the voucher out for me. Just asked when I walked in if they were doing the offer and bought the paper.

I'm fortunate that we have a McColls in our village and no one is aware of the offer aprt from me who frequently visits this website. I have picked up one box of tea bags this morning and one lunchtime as the staff change shift. may have to pick up one on the way home from work lol. 90p for 400 tea bags, can't be bad. It's so hot it's like being in a sauna!

Never got any weak tea but I'm very much enjoying the Terrys Chocolate Orange they gave me as a substitute. :)

Btw, if its weak why not use two in a mug?
#31
I work for Martins and I can confirm that there's very little stock of most of the offers they team up with the papers for.

You'd have more chance of getting the offers from the Martins convenience stores and not the newsagents.

Our store hasn't had the typhoo tea in over 6 months now.

You only got the choc orange as they were on promotion before xmas as a link sale and they over ordered and every branch have stacks left. There's about 100 left in my store :-\ lol

Free? I don't think so - and if you use two every time, it ain't even a bargain - you can get decent tea ie anything except typoo ;) - for that price

I can't tell any difference in tea brands at all. Just is tea to me.
