I'll need your help on this one guys - I haven't been out of the house yet to read the newspaper, but I spotted this one on MSE (thanks Pondie1). The Daily Star have a play.com voucher offer on - collect codes and get a FREE £5 voucher!! They tend to do this about once a year, I've always got my vouchers.

1st code: X3GH
2nd code: NM74
3rd code: JK4E

Simply click the "Go to deal" button when we have posted 3 codes, and enter the codes with your personal details etc. They appear to have £5 vouchers for the 1st 8000 people, then £1 vouchers thereafter.

* Thanks to Charlie12 for providing the web address! And to Muckers2001 for the 2nd code! * Thanks ebury for code number three!

Ooooo, I like Play.com, they have had hundreds of pounds from me.:)
Thanks Emma.
#2
Sneak preview somewhere should be fine.... :p
#3
Yes they've also had hundreds of my pounds so a fiver refund would be most welcome..thanks for the post emma.
#4
Thanks guys :)

Yes, I'm a frequent play.com user as well - a free fiver's worth of goods from them is great :)
#5
Yeah thanks Emma...just have to find out how we go about getting one....
#6
They usually post a number of codes over a number of days, so we should have plenty of time to find out. And I'm sure that of the 4431 active forum members, someone's bound to have the Daily Star today!

If someone happens to have the Daily Star, perhaps they can post the link here?

www.play.com/star - I don't buy the Daily Star but the URL was easy to guess :D

Perfect - thank you Charlie! I was guessing links with Daily in it, to no avail! I'll add that to the OP - many thanks :)

so we need 2 more codes - when can we get the other 2?
#10
One will be published Sunday, and then one on Monday (in the Daily Star). First person to get them, please post them here!!
#11
lol - I wonder if there will be any "non-expiring" £5 vouchers this time? Did well last time :)
#12
Just noticed this in the terms and conditions

Vouchers are valid until midnight Friday 10th November 2006 and for a single use only

and

The value of vouchers redeemed against orders that are later cancelled will not be refunded; if the full value of the voucher is not redeemed no credit will be given.
#13
Thanks for this , will hold off buying a X-mas pressie ( 1st post :P )

Yes, that was about a year ago, wasn't it? Nine codes available if I remember correctly - I ended up spending about £25 and saving £45 off their prices, and something stupid like £110 off RRPs. :-D
#23
Well done on finding this.

Have got a few dvds i'm after and this will make them an attractive price.
#24
Looks like I will have to go to bed REAL late on Sunday or get up REAL early on Monday!

Does different email addresses constitute different accounts?

Probably yes, as long it's a different name and a different credit card as well. But I don't really recommend doing this, as it's technically abusing the promo, which is frowned upon really.

I'll be watching this thread like a hawk. :)

Play better not up the price/go out of stock of what I want to use the voucher on. >.<
#28
This looks really good

Count me in

You may not want to use the hot link but use Copy paste into browser?

They could void some otherwise if they find out they are from a list here.

Just a thought, MSE are also not using hot link.

I don't know if that really makes sense though, because there are literally tons of tracking cookies on my machine, when I click through from quidco, or froogle, or kelkoo or here... For tracking purposes, many retailers accept cookies months after you visit the site, so I think almost everyone who visits would have some sort of tracking cookie...

(I'm not that technically knowledgable about this, but that's what I think ^^^)

whens code 3 out ???

It is worthwhile doing.

Whenever you click on a link, your web browser tells the destination site which page you were on when you clicked on the link.

eg. if I added a link from this thread to http://www.heenan.me.uk/, then in my log files I'd get a line for each visitor who came from this thread like:

67.15.145.26 - - [29/Oct/2006:01:38:00 +0000] "GET / HTTP/1.0" 200 2317 "http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?p=157041" "Moz
illa/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0"

so it records the time, your ip, where you came from, what browser you used - cdwow could easily log your userid too.

thankyou for the 2 codes, i look forward to the 3rd one tomorrow
#38
Thanks Emma and Julie for codes.
#39
Excellent find. I love this site it's great!

I can see the Play.com site crashing tomorrow when we all try to enter the codes!
