Assuming you can make use of the voucher, this makes for some good deals.

The Dc27 is on special offer at £219.99 making it effectively £170, which is by far the cheapest it's ever been.

You get the voucher AFTER you have paid for the hoover, meaning that it can't be used on the purchase of the hoover.

Indeed. I don't think that was implied though.

Is this just on buying a SINGLE Dyson over £180, or is it valid if spending over £180 on Dyson products? Could I for example buy a couple of Dyson Handhelds & get the voucher? :?
#5
The dyson is not "effectively £170. If you get the voucher afterwards, this means you still stump up full price. You are not saving any money, you're just getting more items for the original purchase price that you may or may not want.

Value is a hard thing to judge, if you purchase £50 of goods in vouchers from Argos, that you could have obtained online for about £20, does that not mean you've effectively only saved £30

It says "any Dyson over £180" rather than "any Dyson products" so I doubt it but it might just be worth asking them to confirm.

I think I made it clear by saying "effectively". For anyone who shops at Argos regularly this is a good deal (that's what I meant by "assuming you can make use of the voucher").

At worst, you could probably sell the voucher for £45 easily enough. Then I reckon you could argue you've saved £45 :)

Seems a good deal!!

Why expired - offer is still valid till 23/01/2010?
#10
Yes. Can a mod please unexpire?
#11
offer is valid until 23/2/10

however, Argos has just reduced a number of their dyson range to £179.99 to keep them out of this offer, someone might have expired it on that basis... but it IS still valid for the ones not reduced.

(shame, because a DC23 would have only been £129.99 had they said off ALL models)

I tried my luck using the voucher in Brentwood Argos on a DC23 for £179.99 and they took it, so "effectively" i have a DC23 for £129.99!..

yup ;-)

thats what i did, took the print out to customer services, said i got it via email notification of deals, looked in my catalogue at home, and i want to use it on this one, they were like "sure sir, you can use that"

hehehehe :-D

don't ask, don't get, i guess

Even with voucher, shop around before assuming this is a good deal. DC25, Ball, All Floors is £279.99 at Curry's & £319.99 at Argos. Take £50 off that it is still cheaper but really you are only saving £10 IF you spend the voucher at Argos on things you couldn't have got cheaper elsewhere.

Whether you consider this a good deal depends on a number of things, for example...

1. Are you looking for a dyson product (lets assume vacuum cleaner for a moment)
2. Do you shop regularly at Argos
3. are you likely to wait to use the voucher on other good deals, or just blow it on something that might be cheaper elsewhere, as someone pointed out earlier
4. can you flog the voucher.... say to a family member
5. ... and this one's the deal breaker for me, is the vacuum your looking at one of the ones they have just reduced to 179.99 .... if so, then it's likely to already be one of, if not the cheapest price around..... and if the shop honors the voucher, then bonus.

All of these voucher deals are subjective, depending on your requirements, had i not wanted a DC23, or was never likely to shop there again, and had they not given me the voucher with the DC23 at 179.99 .... would i have grabbed the vacuum when i did ? ... probably not

Still around :)
