I would not touch the halifax again, was with them for over 20 years but when things come to the crunch on some things they don't want to know.

We signed up to the Halifax a couple of weeks ago and were given the £50, so I'm not sure the deal ever went away. Admittedly the sign saying 'Claim your £50' was hand written so maybe it was at the discretion of the branch manager rather than being a nationwide (no pun intended) deal.

Halifax are beyond awful- they really are your worst enemy if you are unlucky enough to bank with them. All banks are bad but halifax are a million miles ahead in terms of screwing customers at every turn.

disgusting bank , these jokers ruined my credit rating and wouldn't help me repair it
I switched bank accounts they moved all my direct debits to Halifax and some of the credit card bills wern't paid.
I only found out when the letters informing me of non payment - hellifux paid the late charges but wouldnt write to the credit card companies telling them it wasnt my fault and wouldnt help me anyfurther, one of the creditcards was halifax!

would never go back to halifax, they charge £1 a day for being in your overdraft (even if your only in your overdraft by £1) if your arranged overdraft is over £300, mine was over £300 as i like to know i could cover bills if something should happen, anyone who can charge you £30 a month for £1 should be wearing a mask and stripey jumper, stop f***ing about in a radio station and concentrate on banking........rant over

not voted either way btw

Isnt the point that if you dip into your OD for a couple of days you only pay £2, not the £20-£40 elsewhere. I have the same account and do occasionaly runa bit short for a few days at the end of the month - but this is much cheaper for me that the way they used to do it (or indeed other banks still do).

horses for courses I suppose.
