Any chance of some feedback on cold vote(s)?

I would have thought two free tickets was a bargain - but I could be wrong! I have checked the site  and there is no mention of having to buy a ticket to get tickets. Even if this was the case though - it would be half price then if you got two friends to go.
#2
People who vote cold should have to put a comment...
#3
I agree - thanks for those who voted warm or hot - getting warmer now thank goodness!
#4
I agree why cold i loveed going to alton towers and an extra £15 to spend is great voted hot
#5
:thumbsup:Voted hot as cant see a reason why free tickets are cold.
#6
must stress the sun offer is for the Alton Towers RESORT and not for the theme park or rides!

The sun offer is for the theme park ! 2 tickets would cost £68 , ie £34 a person, most go with bogof tickets though.

The new badge says resort on it, but the tickets are definately the theme park.

Its a very good offer indeed.

seems pretty hot to me
#9
I dont see how it cant be hot, there free tickets to the best theme park in the uk.

for the price of 7 papers, 2 free tickets, bargain, i go 3 times a year, only a 50 min drive for me.
#10
You can't choose which date to go. You tell them roughly when you want to go and they allocate you a day.
#11
Don't deals automatically start off cold? I'm sure this argument comes up all the time.

Why do cold votes need a reason anyway? People who vote hot don't have to justify themselves.

Would that be because the OP has justified why it should be hot in the description? Everyone else is saying 'Thanks, I like' or similar..
#13
Could be voted cold because quite a lot of people wouldnt buy The Sun on principal - myself included, whatever the deal might be.

still no reason to vote cold
#15
I can't see why people would vote this one cold, Alton Towers Resort is the actual park as it has a different number of parts to the "resort".

Voted HOTT

still no reason to vote cold

Everyone has their reason.

Some pathetic 'deals' are voted hot - even though there is no reason to to do so.

Thats the way it is.

A select few will say why they've voted hot with a thanks or something, that's a gross exaggeration to suggest everyone does it. A select few will say why they vote cold as well.

People don't have to justify hot votes, so they shouldn't have to justify cold votes. It would be a sad state of affairs if the only people who would vote cold are those bold enough to come on and say why, we'd just end up with a load of **** deals splattered all over the front page.

I must point out I don't think this is cold at all, I think it's hot. But in general cold votes shouldn't be vilified or be required to give a reason.

still no reason to vote cold

That's completely down to opinion. I can fully understand why people from Liverpool would vote this cold on the basis that it encourages people to buy the Sun.
#18
well i voted hot - love alton towers altho not gone since a family member sued them after an accident she had on one of the childrens ride.
also in todays sun there is a free high school musical 2 sticker book - bonus
#19
I think the reason for the cold votes are because you cannot select a day ? if you are taking kids, unless you can get school hols the tickets are worthless (unless you can sell on thiefbay !)
#20

I think thats the reason for the cold votes :p haha anyway voted hot

they have to give the sticker books away as it costs another £100 to fill the poxy things :w00t:
#22
Damn, why not in any other paper? Do'h.
#23
I voted cold because it is a cold offer.

This is not like your general GET TOKENS, GO FREE. the fact that they force to go into a band, say you choose between 7 April - 2 May. Theyll choose the date, regardless wether its a weekday and your working or forcing you to attend on a heavily congested Sunday/Sat.

The restrictions are too harsh. Not worth it in my eyes.
#24
Sorry and also, if you plan to go with friends who also collect tickets itll be impossible as even if you choose the same Band, youll be given lottery winning odds to get the same dates. This is really poor and nowhere near the collect tokens, go to the park between now and 3 months time and all the general T&C malarky, with the old offers.

4. Offer only available in the periods A, B, C, D, E,F,G as stated and are subject to availability. Tickets will be allocated for one specific day and date from a date band. #25
HHMMMM, how can they say 2 free tickets for every reader but in the terms and conditions put subject to availability. Its obvious most tickets will be out of season and not duting peak times. Lookds like the sun are misleading people to me. They should state what tickets dates are avaiable and what amounts on each date.Maybe then people will not collect the tokens thinking they can get the times and dates they want.I just wonder how many tickets will be allocated to bands D and E
#26
I think some of the above replies answer why some may have voted this COLD.

i agree, its misleading, the last time i did a sun alton tower offer, you just stuck them on a card, and went to alton towers with it when you wanted to go and handed it in at the turnstyles.

this way is severely crippled.
#28
Woo Hoo Free tickets to stand in line for two hours and then 2 mins on a coaster!

fantastic day out ..............................NOT
voted colder than a windy raining day at Alton Towers :-D

I posted this yesterday - MODS - why did my post get deleted??????????????

This offer is for park entry, a night in the hotels and use of the waterpark, is it not?

The text states you only need to pay extra for a massage or a round of crazy golf.
#31
the offer is for the theme park , water park and hotel are extra.
#32
voted cold - the fact that tickets are randomly allocated means that many (myself included) wont be able to take advantage of this deal.

Might be useful to some, though...
#33
i think this deal is one which is going to catch a lot of us out.

for one most people associate Alton Towers with its themepark, with this promotion in the the sun its directly refering to the RESORT with no mention anywhere to say rides included with the deal.

a lot of people may very well end up at Alton towers paying the full cost of the themepark without realising!

the deal is far too 'wordy', that is it goes on for pages and what iv noticed in the past the wordier the offer the more likely theres a sting in it!

id say 90% of people associate alton towers with RIDES, and thats what your getting, entry to the theme park, not the hotel or water parks.

The £68 is a big clue , as one adult ticket for the theme park is £34
#35
I am a single parent of two children and got an offer of a lift to Alton Towers from my friend who is also collecting the vouchers. I do not drive so other than getting trains, buses etc I have no means of getting there. We were hoping to be able to collect all the tokens and at least specify one date and hope to get the same date to go. Doing what they are doing is going to make it really difficult for us to get the same dates. I do not think I will actually carry on collecting the vouchers, seems to me it is just a way to get people to buy the paper! I think they should have made it collect the tokens and just produce them at the gate when you get there. This offer is great for young free single people. It is no good for people like me.
#36
not correct you are not getting entry to the themepark just the resort.

Alton Towers RESORT is a different business to Alton Towers - had this confirmed this with Alton Towers!

and the offer is for as it says in the Sun article Alton Towers Resort

i dont think its worth all the time and energy for an ambiguous deal

hi adam - thanks for confirming this - dont feel so bad now. This is disgusting that they can dupe people into thinking they are going to the theme park..can you imagine the disappointment on the faces of the kids who are going to be thinking they are going to alton towers? Disgraceful.
#39
Are people a bit dim on here? its two tickets to the theme park !!!!
