Not a bad price. Had it been a 18 months contract, I would have given it a thought...but 24 months is too looooooooooooooooong for me.
#2
This problarly the best QWERTY phone / Blackberry in the world
#3
Heat added, i would never touch a 2 year contract though .
#4
good find ... H+R added.

#6
Is this the "best" blackberry? Never had one, but I have been looking at possibly getting one or the Nokia E72 as my next phone...Any info appreciated, ty.

its Blackberry 8520, this is a 9700

I'd be very surprised if you could get a better deal than this on this phone. Its £400 on ebay never mind anywhere else.

Fantastic deal, I have been using its predecessor for a year now and that is fantastic.

Cheapest on eBay was £349.99, reputable sellers yesterday had it for £365. Few on here for less than £350 mark.

What is Unlimited Blackberry? I have checked some of the other tariffs and it actually states push email internet etc.

Does anyone know?

cheers

This seems a good deal but should I get a Blackberry or an i-phone? I don't know too much about either but definitely need to upgrade my phone.

Its a personal decision really, I love my blackberry bold 9000, and this is the upgrade with some enhancements.

You can't argue though with the functionality that the i-phone provides and tbh I would still like one. I'd have to do more research though as I love the push email functionality of the blackberry and the fact that it is inclusive in my bundle. Really to get a decent iphone deal though you are looking at £45 a month to get a free phone or £35 a month if you want to pay £89 for the phone (16gb - 24 mth contract)

Personally I'd say yes, but there is the storm2 that is out now. Its touchscreen similar to the iphone but when the first one launched it was hyped to be the iphone killer but never fulfilled its promise. The new one has the addition of Wifi which the first never had which swayed me towards the bold.

Again a personal choice as you get a full qwerty keyboard with the bold and you get touchscreen with the storm - depends on what you would want it for though,

There is a good comparison of blackberry's here

I was looking at the average price of completed listings, but then again not really a fair comparison its £389.99 on play which is a better indication.

I've never had a Blackberry nor an iPhone but I have an iPod Touch which is similar minus a bunch of other features, but heck I love the touch it is brilliant, maybe not sound quality wise but the apps and browsing the web is a breeze. Safari is excellent, much better than my current Nokia 5800 and previous phones I have had. I've still got 7 months left on my contract waiting for iPhone 4G as an upgrade maybe, but recently I have been craving a BB, really want the 9700 just for the push emails and BBM. I'm not an Apple fanboy as this is my first Apple device, but I've played with both devices iPhone and BB and I love them both!
#17
i was looking at this deal also, and emailed them to enquire as to what they meant by unlimited blackberry as the 8520 actually states unlimited push email and web browsing whereas the 9700 doesn't

Thanks so much for the info.
In that case I think the Blackberry will be the best deal for me.

They have the £25 Tariff for £20 at Orange.co.uk. You have to pay £100 for the phone. I have been told this includes 500mb of emal and web data.
You also get £50 quidco.

So effectively £480 for a 24 month contract + £100 for the handset =£580, minus £50 quidco £530, bargain for this phone and BB emails, unlimited txts, 400 mins and 500 web data (shared with your BB email) for 2 years.

Look on orange.co.uk under all online tariffs for this tariff.

Still available, as part of the January Sale :)

Recently purchased blackberry bold from buymobilephones last week.

On T-mobile, 18 months contract, 13 months half price line rental (following cashback), Line rental of £40/month.

Includes 400 X-net minutes, not sure about exact number of texts, unlimited blackberry push emails and internet. Handset was free with this contract.

T-mobile changed the tariffs last Monday so the deal I got is no longer available.

Don't forget quidco £25, not guaranteed.

I got this deal before xmas but it was £49 for the handset, Still waiting for TCB to track but I thought it was an amazing deal then, Even better now!

#26

Wow, I'm made up with that :w00t:
#27
I had the I-phone 8g (limited O.S, cant run 2 things at the same time), Blackberry Storm (rubbish), Blackberry Storm 2 (not so rubbish, but still rubbish) and now have the Bold 9700 (The dogs left nut, by far the best phone I have ever had).
#28
Had this phone for just over a week! LOVE IT!
#29
The best blackberry yet. And this deal is superb! Hot hot hot
#30
I've had many phones, including a Blackberry Storm, Iphone, N97, currentley I have the HTC Hero, best of them by far, check reviews out on cnet.
#31
Do you have to add VAT to the price? or is £25 the actual cost? (Would look but the link won't work for me!)

EDIT: Just got through and it is +VAT, I know this is normal, but it still makes £25 nearly £30 p/m.
#32
Not sure what everyone's problem is with 24 month contracts - they're pretty much standard on most networks these days, unless you want to pay extra for a 6 month shorter contract.
#33
I called orange on the freephone number 0800 079 2000 to see if they could beat the Quidco deals. They just gave me the 9700 free, £20 a month, unlimted texts & Blackberry, 600 mins a month on 24 month contract. I currently pay them £5 a month on PAYG and get no internet unless I top-up £10 a month so that's a good deal IMO. I paid £360 for the phone before xmas (this one's for the missus).

Just tried that and the cheapest they could offer me was a £35 p/m plan, couldn't even get them down to £30!!!!:x

The problem is that they shouldn't be standard, loads of the new phones are awful by the end of the two years due to software or battery or not being built to last, there are constantly better phones being made so why should you be stuck with the same one for two years? Contracts used to be 12month, with just as varyingly useless customer service. Paying 5 a month extra for 18months is £90, which beats 6 months more on a 24 month contract. Not to mention rather decent sim-only deals which you can get on a 30-day rolling contract.

Nice deal anyway, thanks for posting.
#36
Got one of these a few weeks ago. Used it for a few days and sent it back. For a device that claims to be best for email i found it useless! Back to using my HTC Hero now.
#37
Great phone, have had it for a month and very impressed.
With regards to the deal, its good, but im happy with the Vodafone deal im on. Unlimited internet/blackberry services, unlimited texs, unlimited LANDLINE, 500 X network calls, £30 per month for 24 months- vodafone business contract (anyone can have it). Insurance is only £3.50 too
#38
forgot to add, £30 inc VAT
#39
I have just got a new deal with Orange.
Blackberry 9700
400 mins
Unlimited landline
300 texts
Blackberry Data
£22.50 per month
18 month contract

This deal is good, but not the best. Depends on what network you want or need. For me I have to be with Orange or 3.

If you need more minutes than this, you can get exactly the same tariff with 1200 rather than 400 minutes for £5 a month more through Carphone Warehouse. £40 Quidco too.
