Hi Guys,

I'm a Vodafone customer and having seen the recent Orange deal I phoned up Vodafone on 08080 408 408 and told them I wanted to add an additional line to my account for my wife.

I said that I got a better offer from Orange and asked if they would price match it. The details I gave the sales person (Nicola) were as follows:

18 month contract, 600 mins, unlimited text and unlimited blackberry email/internet. £20 for 15 months and then £40 for remaining 3 months. That means the whole 18 months would cost only £420.

She matched it instantly and added unlimited Vodafone internet and Vodafone passport, delivered today!

I thought its a great deal if people cant get the orange contract or dont want to be tied in for 24 months.

Not sure if its for existing customer but with a bit of haggling they will offer it to you!
Good luck.

P.S. 1st post guys, so go easy on me!

Note:
It took me 4 attempts to get the right person to match the deal. Keep trying and it should work! I called in the evening around 17.30.

Top deal but highly doubtful it would be offered to non-existing customers, in my opinion, plus you had to try 4 times even then. Still, good work.
#2
Will they make this offer to PAYG users?
#3
Thanks, worth a try I think. The normal cost for the same package is £720 and even with quidco its still a saving of £210. Good luck to anyone that tries. please let me know how you get on.
#4
No harm in trying....
#5
Hot if you can get it.
#6
I very much doubt it

I tried with vosafone last week as a new customer

Best they could do foe me was 600 mins unlimited text and internet (BIS) - £40 / months

guess what I said? !!

Two weeks ago I commented in this forum and I got the same deal with Orange which was
Blackberry Bold 9700. 600mins + unlimited texts + unlimited Blackberry Internet/e-mail at £25/month for 18 months on Orange.

Let me also add that two of my friends got this deal using the 0800 customers service number but we had to call 2 or 3 times to get this offer.

BTW none of us were orange customers before but you have to be persistent and you must also tell them that you will sign up then and there. It does work guys

Good luck

Hope you get it... I missed out by a few hours. Orange are all out of the blackberry 9700s now :w00t:

I think I got a cracking deal from Mobiles.co.uk a few monhs back then, unlimited web (inc data and BIS), 300 mins, unlimited texts, 24 month contract, £50 quidco and 13 months half price line rental redemption, means I'm paying under £20 a month for mine. (that includes the vodaphone passport thing too, which isn't any use if you're off to states apparently !)

Orange offer a service where you can connect your wifi phone to your router at home and the calls will go over the broadband rather than the mobile network meaning may cure a signal problem if Orange is bad in your house.

Vodafone Passport means in selected countries you can use your inclusive minutes subject to a 75p charge per call. Great if you are making calls longer than 2-3 minutes as you can talk for an hour for just 75p however if you called back to the UK for example and kept getting someone voicemail each attempt would cost you 75p. Costs the same also to receive calls. Most of Europe is covered by this service and Australia and New Zealand.

No quidco on this. You have to call the vodafone customer services number.

This deal is best 18 month deal I can find that doesn't include redemption schemes or cash back etc...
#19
Never got anything off them tryed 3 times and told that you had to be a Vodaphone customer for a specific amount of years. If they were to offer this to new customers then they would be out of pocket.

Have tried 5 times so far - received pretty much the same reply how they'd be out of pocket etc, yet they were quick enough to say i'm still eligible for upgrade etc...:whistling: Even went through to retentions threatening to cancel and move to orange...still no joy :(

P.S. Its a great phone!
#23
Please could you give your mobile number so I can get them to match it, they will not match it otherwise it would be much appreciated!

Would it be possible to also PM me your number too - they seem to think that if I can quote your name and number they should be able to look at the tariff and compare it.

I think its a bit unfair asking for the OP number, as they may say they cannot price match it and then up his monthly bill.
#27
I've been looking at deals. A quick search gives the deal below on Orange via dialaphone. Effective cost £25.28 for 18m

Any views on quality of reception for various providers (ie how does Orange compare to Voda, O2, 3). Also, any issues round "redemmable cashback". Do they make it difficult to claim, etc.?

FREE Blackberry Bold 9700 Mobile Phone
5 Months FREE Line Rental (Usually £35.00)
Redeemable Cash Back of £175.00
Redeem your cash back in four stages at month 6, 10, 14 and 18
Unlimited Mobile Internet & UK Blackberry Email
Total Contract Cost £455.00 over the 18 Months Contract
#28
Sorry guys I don't feel comfortable sending you my details.

If there is anything else I can help with then I don't mind. Goodluck
#29
Has anyone actually got this deal, apart from OP?

I got mine from Mobiles.co.uk in December. 300 minutes, unlimited texts and data, BIS, Passport, etc. £50 Quidco and a fair bit of half price line rental, bringing the cost per month down to £26 over 18 months. Not having to keep the same unit for two years was well worth the extra £6 a month to me.

Also, what was your experience with Mobiles.co.uk like? I wouldn't buy from them again.
#31
Vodafone internet not unlimited - they charge you once you hit a certain limited - I know cos I had a massive bill 18mths ago which im still paying off - good deal if your not a big web user tho
#32
your all wasting your time no one will get this deal from vodafone FACT

I know this is a little off topic, but I called retentions for orange today, and managed to get a 9700 with 300mins 500 texts and unlimited landline along with a 500mb dongle, for £15 a month on 18 month contract. I was literally shocked as I thought the most I would get would be an 8520.
#34
i just called the number and they offered me some rubbish, but took my number and someone is gonna call back and "see what they can do" providing i have the 'PAC' and i can sign up now.... *i await the call*
#35
Going to give O2 a call and I hope they give me the same contract I was offered almost 18 months ago when the BB Bold 9000 was released. Plus should be able to sell my Bold for £100 on ebay/to a friend.
Was £20 for 18 months, 400 min's 1000 texts O2-O2 unlimited minutes BB internet & £100 for the phone.

no chance mate, the world has chaned in o2 eyes,,,

Oh and that was for a 24 month deal!

Why doesn't that surprise me. The problem is I have a broadband line attached to my contract, just means the hassle of a PAYG sim with a quarterly topup.

Called up O2 and well after a length conversation, same contract benefits at £37.50 for 24 months OR £45 for 18 months.... Told the guy to shiv it and send me my PAC which I'm still waiting for.

Apparently the limey fug says that I've already had a discount and used it so can't use it again...?

yeah sorry mate, i fist called up with the same view as you, £25 a month blah blah blah, but ******** O2 don't give two hoots, for the record i called about 7 times and got different people each time, none would budge or offer me. I had no choice but to budge as i wanted the 9700, i since settled on Orange and got it for 18 months @ £30 per month, number comes across from O2 tomorrow. I too have O2 Broadband, and will deal with that later, £45 per month is a joke!
#39
I get the feeling O2 mobile may be subsidising the O2 broadband service and the post-iphone exclusivity migrating customers. The 4 texts = 1 MMS or 1 sent from abroad text has been removed.

I tried on 2 separate occasion when renegotiating a sim-only contract (calling 4-5 times each). I was so fed up as wouldn't discount the sim-only plan as they had done previously. Even got a lecture from the hard-nosed b••tch of a sales assistant, in the end I told her I would rather swtich network and play twice for half as less as long as it wasn't O2, which I did.
