Tesco are selling Maltesers & Minstrels in a 3 Pack x 37G for £1.

The ones that they are selling at the moment include the 3 packs which have the Blockbuster promotion on. This allows you to use the three codes on the individual packs to get a free Movie rental at Blockbuster.

I beleive you enter the codes online to download the voucher and take this into store.

I think this is a really good deal as you get the sweets and the rental voucher.

given that they just filed for bankruptsy I'd suggest using that voucher immediately as they might not be around for much longer
#2
lol, it's the porkers in today's UK munching their way through millions of sweets in order to gain a free DVD rental that's put Blockbuster out of the game, haha! They didn't take the fact that we are a nation of greedy blobs into account when they dreamed up that idea!

That was the US stores, the UK stores are related only by name.
#4
hardly... they are owned by the same people, as the uk firm might be getting sold to pay off debt.

Blockbuster's non-US operations are not included in the bankruptcy, as they are legally separate entities.

That includes its 4,000-strong network of stores in the UK, Canada, Denmark, Italy and Mexico.

Blockbuster's 3,000 stores in the US will remain open for the time being, the company's statement said.
#6
Pah, give it 3 months and you will get a free store with every pack....
#7
Good if you can find them
#8
They've been **** for years, terrible customer service. They should have bucked their ideas up long ago.

Goodbye Blockbuster. Hello Netflix.

I have little sympathy for Blockbuster as they saw the online video revolution coming and did what the music industry did with music. Protect their old revenue streams instead of evolving.

their problem was they stuck to a model that is nigh-on irrelevant in this day and age, and have been quickly surpassed by online/postal rental firms, leaving it too late to launch their own similar service.

this has been especially true in the states, since they're even lazier than we are ;)

Hold on, BB's online service has been around since 2004 so how did they leave it too late to launch their own service? Who used online rentals back in the 2 year lead Lovefilm had?
#12
funny enough...
I was in a blockbuster store other day, about to rent film when power-cut whole store, they couldn't get the computers to work again afterwards so they couldn't serve me... they had to close shop for the day after that! haha!!!! No wonder...
#13
just got 2 packs for £2 and 2 free films cheers

well, i honestly didn't know BB had their service running that long.

maybe therein lies the problem, the service was there but it was poorly advertised/promoted and was thus overlooked?

true they reacted far too slowly to online, just like all high street shops in this country.....too little too late...the only way they will survive is to cut costs, which means getting rid of most stores and keep the bigger ones/thos making good money......prob is can they compete with the likes of loveilm in the uk and netflix is the us....hmmm

bb have been in trouble for years

Legally separate doesn't mean they are truly separate, just legally separate. Blockbuster Inc makes frequent references to UK operations in its annual accounts and it generates a lot of revenue here (revenue being very different to profit!!).

Nothing to do with netflix, what **** rents movies off the net or gets them through the door when you can just stream them through many many different websites well before you can get them through netflix. Blockbuster will be fine, going to go there now to buy a game.
#21
Can you rent a game instead of a film ?
#22
They are doing 3 packs of peanut M&Ms for 98p in Wilkinson's don't know if that is on here or not, both good deals :)
#23
1. No you can't use them to get games
2. Home bargains been doing same offer for week or so now
3. Chapter 11 Bancruptcy protection in the US was planned as a re-organisation to reduce their mammoth debt, by issuing more shares in exchange for loan notes. It's not the same as administration in the UK, and most often Companies do come out the other side much leaner and fitter from it. The UK side is untouched by this with the exception of any intra-company loans they will have which may affect its going concern basis of reporting.

HOT!!!!!! Just got the new Robin Hood movie out at the grand cost of £1 with this deal....normally we get them out of the library on their deal days when we can get 2 movies for the price of one, so normally £2 for two. However the library can be very erratic with what they have on the shelves, so its potluck :)
#25
Couldn't see any of these in my local Tesco but they were selling the large packs for 2.70 which equal 1 free movie anyway and 2 medium packs on offer for 3 pounds which also together make one free rental. So yea its still a good idea to buy one of these as you still save about 1.50 and get some free sweets.
#26
Havent they one bust? or is that just in the states?
