Because it's simply a tatty incentive to shop at super expensive sainsbury.

The profit they make will far exceed the value of the coke, and the manufacturer would have paid for most of it.
#4
They're probably doing it because they've got way too much overstock

is there a delivery charge with sainsbury's. Im about to spend £11 was going to go instore as anticipated a postage charge, but now would rather buy online using the code and get this thrown in free... it will actually go very nicely with the amaretto Im buying :)

how would the manufacturer have paid for it? they supply the drink and sainsburys pay for that supply

coke zero... blah... Heat added anyway.
#9
Free from Ocado too. No need to add to basket or enter a code, just had a delivery and they included one!
#10
Mine came last night but for some reason receipt says the coupon went through as only £1 whereas it was for £1.50 on the computer. Can't be bothered to ring them but if they did that to everyone and are claiming money back from coke, nice little earner for them!

I'm not really a fan of online shopping, but Sainsburys keep giving me £10 off an online shop vouchers plus free delivery. Couple that with the fact that the website makes it really easy to find items that are on special offer, and the few times I've shopped online have meant that online shopping with them works out far cheaper than buying the same items in the store :)

It could be a manufacturer promotion.
#13
@whitesupremo Big super markets usually don't work like that. Promotions often paid out by manufacturers. My wife used to work in a company who has to pay a huge amount of fees to put stock on Walmart's shelf. Promotions run at the company's cost. Well Pepsi and Sainsbury's maybe a little different but that's the idea. Often it is the manufacturer who wants to run the promotion or the supermarket negotiate a deal with them.

LOL BBQ food is more carcinogenic but ok, each to their own form of "science" I'm only a chemist ;) Personally I'd not drink it because I don't like the taste but this is hot for those that like and can get it!

sainsburys own products are far superior to any other brand asda tesco etc ...from bread to frozen stuff ...... TASTE THE DIFFRENCE as they say

For delivery, £25 minimum spend - but you get a higher delivery charge if its under £40.

Maybe double check its the coke zero 1.75L added to the basket - any other bottle size or type of coca cola wont work. Only reason I can think of, sorry - wouldnt think the 23,870 bottles have been snapped up yet!
#26
Got a free one in our Ocado delivery last night, perhaps a Coke promo
#27
added it to my order for tomorrow :)

I got a Sainsbury's delivery on Thursday. Came with a free, bright orange, fat funnel - aimed at encouraging people not to pour fat down the sink. Not a fan of Coke, but I'd have preferred that to a fat funnel. oO

Not my experience. Quality used to be consistently high, but in the last few years Sainsbury's has let standards fall.

I got one of those orange funnels too - more junk to store in drawer :). Also did the Coke code on my online shop and it totally worked, taken off on the receipt. I dont normally drink it but ok for the rest of the family at Christmas and for free, who can argue with that! thanks OP, voted hot.
