If your price plan includes BT WiFi, you'll be able to use thousands of BT Openzone WiFi hotspots. So you can browse the internet, read and send emails, stream music and watch videos while you're out and about. So you're less likely to go over your monthly cellular limit.

Although it won't use up your mobile internet allowance, there is also a 3GB monthly limit. This is part of the Fair Use Policy outlined in your terms and conditions.

Where to find BT Openzone WiFi hotspots

If you want to find a WiFi hotspot, look out for the BT Openzone logo. You’ll find them in lots of public places. Just look out for the BT Openzone logo (see below)

If you have you previously downloaded the WiFi app use the ‘hotspot finder' to locate public WiFi hotspots near you and see them on a map.

Please note: The EE, Orange and T-Mobile WiFi app is no longer available to download.

Same here....are you guys both on sim only contracts? Because I am, so maybe it's just for "proper" contracts.

I'm on proper contract, same message here.
#7
It appears that it's for EE broadband customers only.
#8
I' with EE for mobile (SIM only contract) and for broadband. Doesn't work for me.

This was an old offer on older ee plans, wouldn't surprise me if only customers that haven't upgraded for a while are the ones who can still use bt wiffy

it does state above 'if your plan includes bt wifi'

letter sent to son today about this - saying he'd get broadband for £5 per month as he had an EE contract.

BT's regular broadband is rubbish. I had to upgrade to the most expensive one (fibre optic) to get a decent service.
#11
it worked for me!

got a text back in seconds with a username and password

Could you please explain what contract, i.e. mobile or broadband your daughter has? I think many people have been asking or confused as to why it didn't work for them? Same goes for rich345. Thanks

Is this even an EE shortcode?
Don't all just send the chargeable message without checking it out or seeing EE proof.
#17
It is EE and kosher, a five second Google found this (but you're right, people should check before texting random numbers)

Gav, as it worked for you and worked for you now.

Can you say what sort of contract you are on?
Do you have BTbroadband / EEbroadband?

Tried it with 4 different ee sims, 2 pm, 1 sim only and 1 payg
as this would really help some of our remote users, but it has
not worked on any of them!

Thanks in advance

The OP has just assumed because they have it as part of their contract that it is standard; it isn't.

Also, might just be commercial BT Wi-fi hotspots not the parasitic ones running from BT branded routers. Many of these are free to use anyway e.g. Tesco and Starbucks.

I have a bundle on my Orange account that states I have this for 6/7 years - I cant get my login details from EE/Orange as the system mergers screwed it up and they can remove but not re add the bundle which would give me my details, the priceplan upgrade in June 13 included it... Hopeless, at least BT iT staff have a clue.
#31
It's not standard so isn't really a deal
