Sorry, but this isn't new as my sister's been on it for months and its a repeat post.

Good for people who don't already know though.

I was not aware of this offer but after checking the website it is not as good as I thought:

- Free credit is given once each month

- Free credit takes 48 hours to activate and is valid for one month

- Top-up again in the same month and this will generate free credit for the following month

can you use the free credit you get from Tesco to call premium rate numbers?

That would be quite a big loophole if they let you do that as you could dial up loads of competition lines.

Plus half price calls and texts (so 10p and 5p) to 5 chosen landline or mobile numbers.

Not new but good reminder.

Uses up free credit first. So if, for example, you top up £15 and get an additional £30 free but don't use more than £30 in the month your £15 (or part thereof) remains and gets carried over. If that then builds up (like mine does) you can decide to take a month or two off and just use up your accumulated credit. Much more flexible than a contract.

Don't forget your 5 half price numbers too.

Works brilliantly for me.

So what's wrong with a new post for those who aren't aware?
