About £527 delivered. It will be worth checking what this spec retails for on the main site before deciding on how good a deal it is.
Cheers, A.

Will this apply to XPS laptops and where does the discount show up?

Yes, it does. Add to your basket and you'll find the money-off coupun under 'software and periphal options'. Check it and press update system. Good offers in there at the mo!

I ordered one yesterday, do you think I will get any joy getting this added by ringing them up...worth a try I suppose.

To get a very good deal patience is often the key and this deal is running for ages so hang in there. Try logging into the site first thing in the morning and last thing at night and a couple of times during the day.

Choose Dimension Desktop, Select 512 for Video Card, click Submit search then click on the Price column to sort by price. The 8800 GT 512MB is likely the best card you’ll get at under £600 and I’ve seen loads of XPS 420s with 8800GT, Q6600, 500GB, 2GB+ go for ~£550 delivered after discounts.

As soon as you see a PC listed that interests you add it to your basket which gives you 15 minutes to purchase it before it gets released so that others can view and buy it. You can then check the exact spec by clicking on ‘System Details’ from the basket. You can also view the system specs by clicking on the System Identifier which is the left hand column when browsing the stock; it opens a separate browser window so make sure your browser doesn’t block it.
Don’t forget that you need to manually select the discount which is listed as an option once you’ve added it to the basket.

Note: The Dell prices shown exclude VAT & Delivery but when including the current discounts they translate closely to the following total price that you pay:

£568 Ex VAT = £600 delivered
£525 Ex VAT = £550 delivered.
£483 Ex VAT = £500 delivered.

You actually save £57.04! Every little helps....urgh.

Just ring up and say you want to cancel unless they can offer you the discount.

My stepson is after a cheap as possible desktop without monitor for general surfing, email etc. What's ideal for that?

Inspiron 530 or 531 or Vostro 200/400. Get 2GB RAM and Vista Home Premium if possible or XP.

I know i'm linking to my own thread and stuff, but isn't this a better deal

http://hotukdeals.com/item/168987/dell-xps-420-core-2-duo-e8400-4gb-5

The E8400 is a faster processor than the Q6600, and the E8500 is a lot fatster, comes with 4 gig of RAM, and with the 512MB 8800GT and 500GB HDD.

That's ~£560

What's an E500?

Purely for gaming I’d agree but it also depends on how low the deals reach on the Outlet Store this time as they may be cheaper now as newer models are out and the new price is so low; only time will tell.

Add the Logitech Cordless Desktop MX3200 to the basic spec and it comes to £491 after Quidco which is lower than I’ve seen on the Outlet before with the Q6600.

Sorry, i meant an E8500 :)

That's dependant on whether the software you're using can utilise the extra two cores on the Q6600. A quad core cpu is certainly a more future proof investment. That said I recently stuck an E8400 in my system as it's easy to overclock and a bit nippier with most current games.

Yeah, I picked up an Inspiron 530 with Intel 1.6 dual-core, 2GB RAM, 320GB hard drive, DVD writer & XP Home Premium for £152.87 delivered the first time I took a peak at the site. I got lucky. :)

Just looked on there and seen the Inspiron 530 but it was for more money. Do you need a code to activate the discount and delivery. Could I get 2 x I530 for £305.74?

When you add an item to the basket underneath it is a list of optional items and one of them is the £57 discount so tick that and then click the update total button before continuing to the checkout. The free delivery is automatically applied.

Yes but it depends what specs you’re after. Remember these are all one off systems so you usually have to come back a few times to find the right spec at the right price.

Warning: I had a really nice deal on an XPS sitting in the basket for under 10 minutes whilst I ummed and arghed and when I went back to the basket it had gone, so take Dell’s 15 minute time limit with a pinch of salt.

I think this is a good one they are coming up but seem to go quick

Are the machines with intergrated graphics card going to have a free PCI-express slot on the MB??.... I'm guessing so?

AFAIK they all come with a PCIe x16 slot but the slim line cases such as Vostro 200 SL or Inspiron 530 S take low profile cards only.
If you want to use a VGA cards that require a 6 pin PCIe power adapter remember that most of these systems will need a SATA to PCIe power adapter but they should have enough power to run an 8800 GT okay; the adapter doesn't cost much.

To get the full specs on a Dell system go to the main Dell page and look for the main page for a particular model which is the one that links to all deals for that model. From there you can see detailed specs, photos and user reviews.

The mini-tower is a desktop; the term is used to distinuish it from others such as the 'slim' tower desktop - the slims are more compact and need low profile graphics cards, for example.

This thread deserves a bump, lots of decent systems on there this morning.

I assume you mean laptops listed at £330 - £350 excluding VAT which comes to about £321 - £344 delivered?

There are plenty of Inspiron 1525 1.67GHz C2D, 2GB, 160GB, Vista HP for £350 Exclusive. Check the specs as optional upgrades included are larger batteries, TrueLife screens, Web cams etc.

I still think the best current deal is the Vostro 1400 that’s been posted on the forums as if you take off Quidco and sell the Logitech MX3200 you’re getting a fantastic price for that spec hardware. I don’t personally like the 1400 but I still think it’s worth considering.

You need to manually select the discount which is listed as an option once you’ve added it to the basket.

Seeing asthese are ready built due to them being returned do they then get shipped faster too?
If so what sort of delivery time do they take, roughly?
