I hate it when they do that - I always get really excited and don't seem to realise until the last minute!

is the outlet still subject to systems getting eaten by scripts?

I can't see where to take the £55 off. There doesn't seem to be anywhere to amend the delivery info (could be this dodgy computer at work though). :?

You will need to be a bit quick with the better bargains, I suggest you put them into your basket first and figure if its the best deal within 15mins of doing so or it will be dumped back to the outlet by the software which tries to stop basket holding.
Leave it just sitting there while you make up your mind and it will be gone when you go for it.

No, there is now a captcha service running so you need to manually type to get anything into a basket.

The £55 off tick box is at the bottom of the page once you have basketed your choice.

These seem great deals if you don't want an 8800GT and they have quite a few within £5 or so.

I need it mainly for my Statistics MSc dissertation, which involves heavy use of stats packages (SPSS, Matlab, minitab etc) and also work with large data sets in Excel (100,000+ rows of data at a time). I guess I also want to be able to run the odd strategy game (so nothing too graphics heavy) and watch the odd film when on the train i guess.

Hope this helps, thanks for your time.

Yea, all the best deals are getting snapped up by resellers the minute they come alive. You can wait for the basket to kick out unpurchased deals, but they would still be more likely picked up by the strips until someone actually checks and makes a purchase.

The only things are still untouched and worth getting a refirb for – their Presision workstations. 490/690 with nv Quadro card can sometime sell for the price of the card or just slightly more. Check this service tag for example EP0TYGH0.

Rats, I am expecting a system booked on the 12th to arrive on Monday.

Look under Dimension Desktop; there's one with the same spec for £479 delivered right now but they come and go.

Click on the System Identifier (left hand column) and it opens a new window with the specs. It’s not as detailed as looking at Dell’s website but they don’t give you the Service Tag so you can’t do that.

NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS Video Card

The best one for gaming is the 8800GT 512MB which is what I was referring to. They may be all gone at the price I indicated but this deal is on for two weeks so I’d be patient if you can and try the site again at different times of day.

The inclusive price can be calculated in this way:

( Ex Vat Price – 55.04 ) * 1.175.

There are loads of Inspiron 1520s with C2D 2GHz, 2GB RAM, 160GB hard drive for £375-380 delivered. Check the actual specs as they vary in terms of colour, battery size and whether they have a webcam. Good price for that spec although I don’t know what the 1520 is like!

Excellent, thank you ever so much Geoggy. I'll have a look this eve when I get home at similar specs.
