Another great post MikeT, will be looking out for a slim tower to make as a media centre!
[mod]#2
If you see anything you really want before they update the checkout page to include the £55 off you may want to buy it anyway, then later today phone the outlet team on 0844 444 5219 and get them to amend the order to reflect the discount.
If they wont play ball just cancel the order.

All the low cost kit will vanish soon after breakfast time and then you will be waiting for Dell to add more kit during the day.

When do they update the page, I've got the bloody system I want in my basket! Nearly bought it yesterday, then held off wondering what today's offer might be. Glad I waited, but won't be glad if I lose the machine!
#4
I know what you mean! Guess the phones will be ringing red hot at 9am!

Do you have to keep refreshing every 14 mins so you don't lose the system from your basket?
#5
I've been taking it out and putting it back in manually. :(

The machine's exactly the one I wanted, albeit in a bit of a **** colour. But I'll take the bad colour for £300 off!
#6
Mine's still in the basket but I keep going back to see if the discount option has been added and re-entering my cc details so still active. seems to be working so far - had it in basket for abot 30 mins. Hope it stays there until I can ring someone if I need to!

How do I know what's a good laptop for £250? They have inspirons with 2GB ram, vista for that price. Sounds good to me.
#8
That's what I'm wondering, there's so many to choose from it's like looking for a needle in a haystack!
#9
The issue with those will likely be the processor. But 2Gb of memory should be enough for Vista.
#10
Is the £55 off the exVAT amount of incVAT?

Potentially got a system here for £150 exVAT delivered.
#11
the processor info looks really thin. most of them seem to be dpc-1730s whatever that means
banned#12
Had my system in my cart for ages but the site is crashing for me
#13
It tells you what the processor is properly when you click the info on it - it pops up. Site seems OK here.
#14
I've just found a dual core 530 minitower with 4Gb of ram for £200. EDIT: I wish I had kept up with PCs over the last year or so. I have no idea what's a good deal and what's not any more.
#15
Memory's cheap at the moment, so keep that in mind. If something has a good processor but less RAM it might be worth buying anyway and just upgrading the memory.
#16
cheers
#17
(drums fingers impatiently)
#18
Keep on updating item but still no £55 discount option showing - looks like we will all be phoning! :(
#19
I'm finding lots of desltops for me but nothing much for the other half's laptop.
#20
I have not been looking at laptops recently and have not kept uptodate with processors, but I am now looking for a fairly basic laptop and it seems that I might be able to get one from Dell outlet. I don't know what the processor names mean eg DCP-1730, DCP-1860, ICR2-2000 etc? Can anyone help?

That's what I thought but it feels a bit stupid looking for a laptop for the oh and getting a desltop for me. Can't find anything anywhere near that good in the laptops
#25
Placed my order (and it let me select free laptop bag too!) but no email confirmation yet. :(
#26
ordered mine over the phone :) thanks
#27
Dear oh dear oh dear, why did I look on here this morning. I've got the 530 above on it's way and because I felt bad not getting this OH the laptop she needs I bought her a laptop too. £640 worse off now. Thanks OP, honest.

I priced up the components for that 530 elsewhere and the obvious stuff alone came to £300+ so I'm happy. The equivelent spec on the dell site was £600+ with a lower processor.

Sorry to ask, but has anyone who ordered online had an email confirmation? I have an order number, but it's not pending on my card and I've not had confirmation. Called my card company and they haven't stopped it or anything like that.

2 of those £299 Dell quad cores left @ Tesco, Kingston, Milton Keynes.

Awesome find, rep added

I've got an order confirmation email

Got my confirmation. Only thing is i can't remember what i ordered now :w00t: It seemed like what i wanted, went through quick and through quidco before it went.

I got a slimline Vostro 200, spec was roughly as follows:

C2D E4600
2GB Ram
256mb GFx
All for £187.01

How do i check what i ordered anyone?
#33
It will be sent in the email on a detailed PDF file.
#34
Still no confirmation here, although I called them and they said it could be up to 48 hours.
#35
Guys have you been sending rep to illmonkey, we owe him and MikeT big time on this!!!
#36
Yes, they can take a while. A long while. Once you get an email, badger them by the same medium - much better via email than via telephone in my opinion ...

The initial email confirmation quite regularly doesn’t get sent so remember to make a note of the order number when you place an order.

There is no Quidco for Outlet orders.

The email confirmation shows the service tag which you can enter here to get the original system spec and ship date. It may show extra items such as extended warranties, Office 2007 or extra peripherals but most of those won’t be included.

I've never been able to get those tags to work. I've just typed mine in from my initial on-screen order confirmation, and nothing... curious as to whether I've got a fingerprinter reader or backlit keyboard on my lappy as it's never listed on the outlet.
