I lived and worked in Bradford for many years and I can confirm that not only do the shops sell soap but the locals actually buy it too and use it. Bradford is a wonderful city with great people. Friendly and welcoming. Perhaps try it out at some point rather than making incredibly ridiculous sweeping statements

You're out of touch Andy: living relatively near to the city I can confirm that it is a squalid and most unappealing hole. Truly the town is dying on its @rse. It is grotty, depressed and beset with intractable social and economic problems (not least of which is the sinister racial divide of the place). Ask the vast majority of residents and they will tell you the same. The only people who tend to portray the place in a more favourable light are ex-residents with their rose-tinted spectacles who haven't visited the place in the last twenty years or Bradford Council's 'regeneration' department (an oxymoron if ever there was one).

I didn't like the look for 'fish dish' so went to 'The In Plaice' [yes it's really called that] near the fountain malarkey in the town centre... The fish + chips there were delicious!

Sadly I can confirm that most of Bradford is indeed a dump.
Empty shops, pound shops, pawn shops & bargain retailers make up the vast majority of the City centre trade, however we do have a wonderful new water feature that the council wasted £24 million on (yes twenty four MILLION).
Until Westfield decide to build their (very) long awaited shopping centre stear well clear & take a trip to Leeds or Huddersfield.
    Deal gets heat though.

Pay £4 and have your fish and chips in Leeds where your are not surrounded by pondlife. Bradford is a dead city full off spongers and scum.

Dont forget the £126 million council spent on turning a 6 lane road into 4 lanes with a bus lane in the middle, ( only works up halfway then has to come out and swap with bus coming down!!!!) Anybody else would employ set of navis with tin of red paint and make 2 bus lanes on either side, sorry we had that before the £126 mil.......
However southerners know this we have the best curries, best fish and chips and within 10 mins the best countryside in the country. Hmm that or crappy mugathon that is London et al....

Yep, I live in Bradford, born ,and bred here, and hopefully before the end of the year will be out of here, It truly is a dump believe me.

The city centre is a joke of the highest order, no decent shops at all, the City has died, any local resident's with a modicum of sense are wanting to leave.

Great Daily Mail-style novelty account... very funny, I like it!

The "White working person" currently makes up 91% of the workforce - i.e. a safe majority in anyone's book - source http://www.idea.gov.uk/idk/aio/5689207
