Green Flag Recovery Plus - starts from £68

IME the Pru are very reliable Quidco payers as well.

The car insurance was VERY expensive for me - quoted £800 whereas my renewal was 300!! Although this deal could be HOT for someone else!

took out a policy with these as they were cheaper than my existing insurance company. Had all my insurance documents sent out, but there was no sign of anything from Green Flag. Gave customer services a ring and they told me i have level 4 with green flag (whatever that means) and my details are being sent out seperately. So this really is a £154 saving with the quidco cashback, which as someone else said tracks almost instantly

I already have a prudential car insurance policy. Can i get suggestions on what to do. I am new to Quidco.

1. Cancel my policy (if I do it today, I get £ 337 back, whereas I paid £ 438 in May 2007) and go through Quidco and retake my policy?
2. Call Prudential (and I don't know if it works) and ask them to give me the green flag cover?

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Cheers

the green flag cover is for new policies taken from July to 31/10/07 so i dont think you will get any joy from the phone call, but i guess you have nothing to lose.

Cancelling the policy may be your best bet, maybe tell them this when you call. they may then add it on

Im already with the Pru. My renewal came in a couple of weeks back at £288. Did a new quote online yesterday and it came in at £255 with lower excesses than the current policy and with the Green Flag cover (which is the top tier of cover excluding European...not just basic). Nett Cost £155 after Quidco......unbeatable I reckon.

Called Pru to advise I didnt want the renewal to be automatically generated as I had found insurance somewhere else.:-D
#14
Took out Pru car insurance, fully comp, protected n.c. legal aid £100 excess etc. policy came to £200-£100 quidco and free breakdown. Quidco was paid same day!!!
#15
I took this out on the weekend. They were £150 cheaper than the insurers i had, add the quidco and breakdown and i reckon ive saved about £300- so a hot deal for me!

I took insurance out at end of July for start date at the begining of August and it did not track. I have sent an enquiry to Quidco and am still waiting for an answer one way or other.

i dont really want to cancel it and take it out again. i cleared all cookies etc and every other thing tracks ok for me, wonder if its because my policy starts 2nd october, should not matter thou as they took all my bank details and deposit from debt card.

Just took this one up. It was validated with Quidco within an hour & a half for £130.00 not £100.00.
I also filled in the form without breakdown cover, let's see if it shows up with the other documents.
My quote from current insurers was £34.00 cheaper than Prudential but if the breakdown cover comes with it it's even better. :-D

when does your insurance start m8 and did you chouse direct debit, and it is £130 now with quidco.

Breakdown documents come under separate cover. Called Prudential Breakdown but really Green Flag.

Insurance starts 9 Sept. and paid with one payment, I think the direct debit payments are subject to interest on the 'loan'.

PLEASE someone change the title of the thread. Its basic breakdown cover NOT Recovery which is included.
#25
its recovery plus that is free and that is recovery, its there top package we get for free minus the european cover.

See post no.5 on this thread. I agree it looks like the cover includes Recovery from the confusing paperwork, but when you read it carefully it is only the basic roadside cover we are getting as I understand it. It is badly worded on the documentation.
#27
i just read that m8 but i still think it is recovery plus, as someone else said to his reply, would be great to know for sure thou from someone that can confirm either way, even says recovery plus on the pru site so they would have to give it to us anyway.

And when you switch, you get FREE Green Flag breakdown cover with national recovery and home callout when you take out a policy before 31.10.07.
#28
How long do you think you need the policy to run for to get the Quidco cashback. I need to insure a car for just 3 weeks.
#29
Daytrader did you quidco credit show up?
I did mine Saturday night and still no show of the credit.
I guess could cancel the insurance and start again
#30
I got this deal last year i can't believe its coming up to renewal time again,Has anyone who was with the pru cancelled and took it out again through quidco had any problems or will it work .
#31
Did mine this morning through Quidco, got the full £130 cashback validated within 40mins and also got the breakdown cover (although i've already got an excellent 'Motoraid' policy which i'll still keep)

(used Firefox with cookies cleared if that helps anyone)

no it did not but i already cancelled once, i may just do a enquiry as quidco showed i went to prudential in the drop down menu, i dont understand i done everything right and other things tracked ok, inc lloyds and barcalys.

I just had to chase up my Green Flag cover on the phone as it wasn't added to my cover when I took out the policy.
The Pru guy did confirm it was the Recovery Plus with home callout too.
#34

trouble is with enquirying on the phone it can invaladate your qudico, especially if anything in policy is changed.

The cashback from Quidco is great IF you get it! My Pru car policy still hasn't tracked 21 days later. I made the mistake of buying a dearer policy, thinking the Quidco cashback was to follow. Which it hasn't.
