Good price!

I have this phone and it is awesome. Please be aware that the internet on this from the booster is capped at 355kb/s so it's actually quite slow (I was getting 3,000- 4,000kb/s with Vodafone)

A quick call to T-Mobile **may** result in them putting you onto the 3gb FUP that gives the proper HSDPA data rate of around 1,000-2,000kb/s if you ask nicely and you speak to the right agent.

Apart from that, it's a quality handset and voted hot for a great deal!

Also if you buy a phone contract from this group, you qualify for 2 free tickets to see Derby County. Not amazing but still a freebie never the less!

Probably yes.

Can you cancel if you don't want the phone?.
#10

If you've changed your mind you can return your phone to us in an unused condition within 7 days of the date on your sales invoice.

You will need to ensure you return everything back to us in pristine condition and also include a cover letter stating the reason you are returning the handset. We recommend that you return the handset to us with Royal Mail Special Delivery to the following address: BuyMobilePhones.net, Contract House, Turnpike Business Park, Alfreton, Derbyshire, DE55 7AD.

If you have received your gift, you will also need to return this to us in an unused condition with your handset as we will be unable to request cancellation of a contract until we have received all goods from you. This could delay or even prevent your contract being cancelled.

so what is the bottom line?

Nonsense.

Would be helpful to have the network in title and description. ;)

They are two very different phones but quite comparable. Surely you bought the Z because it has the keyboard and IMO a more practical screensize for some.

Probably. If you get one of these you should definately consider getting an external battery pack or spare phone batteries (if they are user replaceable). HTC have gone a bit mad with the screen size of these. 4.3" makes it a pretty massive, battery hungry phone. They do have a lot of power, though!
#17
The battery life is fine ignore these clowns above. If you use the internet daily then you will need to charge the phone at night, if you don't and turn off mobile internet and only switch it on when you need it it will last days.

HTC + Android = dreadful battery life
expect to JUST make it through the day* with texting, minimal calls, light browsing (not flash), light email (not push/auto retrieve) and >1hr of music
(by day i mean approx. 10hrs)

Thats what I got with my Desire anyway and as this has a SMALLER battery than the desire and more power hungry features you will only dream of this estimation. Save pain and suffering and go with a better phone

The Desire HD actually has an uprated lower consumption processor, so battery will last you a day. (This is now the norm for smatrphones). Just charge it when you're asleep and you'll be fine

That was just my experience. However i find it odd how they can only fit a smaller battery in a larger phone and 3/4 of their own power ratings rate it worse than the desire only GSM talktime has an improvement

root the phone and use setCPU app. This adjusts the processor to minimise battery usage, i have about 2 days use now from my desire, great phone btw!

Ditto.

the Desire HD has a 45nm chipset instead of the 65nm in the normal desire.
This means better performance and better battery life.

My 2yr old HTC Hero will last 5 days if I don't use the internet but as it's a smartphone I use it to do smart (and battery consuming) things.
I always charge my phone every night and normally after a days use I have around 46% battery left.

I found the first week or 2 can seem a bit high on power consumption but this is due to the battery being new and needing a few de-charge/recharge cycles to get the best performance.

All-in-all a fantastic phone which blows almost everything out of the water (with the excetion of the 1.5 dual core coming out next year) and will do anything you ask of it... including flash ;o)
#24
good deal for the price.phone worth 400 in the market now.
#25
I am getting 2 days now running 2.2 on a HTC HD2, yes I had to get the setting right to achieve this but in the end it was worth it.
#26
Get about 3 days with light use from my Desire. Rooted with Opendesire 4.0.10.
Nice find OP, looks a nice phone. Good deal.

This is the ebst price I've seen for the phone, if you can get the internet speed cap removed then it's a stonking hot deal.

Depends what you want ti for. The Desire Z is an excellent handset, a more practical size, and includes the trackpad and hardware keyboard. The HD is bigger and has a more powerful processor.

Been looking at this offer over the last couple of weeks. The reviews of the Buymobilephones seem a bit iffy & with that in mind I'm heading to my local Phones4u shop to see if I can get the 24 month deal for £25 a month

I get 2 n half days with my Desire with heavy usage. Maybe you just don't know how to customise the phone to get that bit extra from the battery. Its the best phone i've had in years!root ftw.

The HD is one of the best phones for what you get with the screen. I'm sure once rooting is available they'll be much more roms to improve battery life etc.. If i hadn't got my Desire i reckon i'd go for the HD but theres not much difference between them two apart from the screen

I 2nd this, get at least 2 days from my Desire and that with applications that sync every hour and playing media and radio all day

IMO I recommend you 'root' your phone as it makes it a much better device overall

PS The Desire HD can now be rooted with Visionary

yes i did take the time to get the settings right and i did have times when the battery would last 2+ days sometimes but android needs so much attention to get decent battery life (app killers etc) its too much work, something that you really shouldnt have to do. "wanna play a quick angry birds game.......wait.......close my other apps, stop this and i can pla............oh my stop......gotta get off *sadface*"

the battery life shouldn't be count for phone like this, cuz they are like mini notebook

I can never understand why people have a problem charging their phones overnight. How hard is it to plug the charger in when you go to bed?

Thanks but I wonder why Nokia's bran new flagship phone is on such a cheap deal so soon after it has been released. My thought is that its because the operating system is completely outclassed by Android, iOS, Blackberry OS, WebOS and probably Windows Phone 7.
