Been looking around for a good deal on the HTC Desire HD and found this. Best deal I can find anywhere on the net - if anyone can find better please let me know!

For some reason the it's exact same price as the same deal but with 600 minutes. Scorchio :)

Good deal.

Good deal, pity about the network. If you leave them make sure you cancel the direct debit with the bank otherwise they will continue to charge you after you have left.

Better deal on mobiles.co.uk?

I've been looking for about a week and there was a deal on mobiles.co.uk until a few days ago that worked out at just over £20 per month, but for some reason went to about -100 degrees on here. Anyway this is the best one I've found tonight (apart from yours).

24 months:

300 mins Any Network Anytime
Unlimited Texts
500MB Data

£25.54 / month

4 months 1/2 price (by redemption)

Topcashback: £50.50

Any opinions on which is better? looking to order this phone tomorrow

Shame it's 24 months.. won't take a contract out that is so long
#5
Not a bad deal but I echo the 24 month concern. It's way long to be stuck with one provider. Total cost for the OP = £612.72

#7
how much int time do you get each month on this deal?
#8
All resellers get 1gb if you opt for using unlimited data booster.

However direct to t-mobile they give you 3gb without using your free booster.

Try them as I managed even on launch week back in Oct to get £100 off the rrp of phone reducing it
#9
Down to £140 on the £20pm 2yr tariff. Total cost £620. I am sure now a few months have passed a better deal could be struck. There have also been mentions that the download speed gets capped to 3g speed for resellers as it should be hsdpa speeds.

Personally, i dont like to go for cashback deals, i know many people get on with them o probs, but when i first did one (all be it 5 years ago) I got scammed with ridiculous hoops to jump through and dodgy loopholes that they found so they didn't cough up. I tend to just go for low line rentals in the first place. May be of some use to other HUKDers out there tho :)

Plus - this only has 300 minutes , but yes unlimited texts (i'm a talker not a texter) also it only has 500mb internet.

I'll bear that in mind, thank you. Im hoping that their network (merged with orange coverage i beleive) will have a better signal than 3, coz 3's is just dire.

yes - i was torn between the Galaxy S and the DHD because of the Galaxy having a better screen and better battery life, but the specs and bigger screen swung it for me. I'm going to buy an additional battery on ebay for about £8 and keep it in my handbag. :)
#13
This is a fantastic deal ! Desire HD is one of the best androids.

Apart from being spelt wrong, what does this actually mean? - I have one of these phones and have no real problems with the battery. Do you have this phone?
#15
Desire HD is cool but the battery span is limited to a day at max!!!
i have the phones 4 u deal but i got it in store because I can upgrade after 18 months,
the 18 month upgrade is the only perk when getting the contract in a store!

my contract - £25 pm incl VAT, 24 months, T-mobile, 600 mins, 500 text, 1 GB data allowance, free phone with 2x 8GB, and a screen protector.

It's a great phone - I love mine

I'm on T-mobile and now I can use the Orange network automatically as well , it works really well. I was thinking of changing network until they did this.

Awesome, i'm glad im getting good feedback re the phone and network, as i've ordered it now. Can't wait for it to come :) Still waiting for the credit check email.

I hope you guys get on better with T Mobile than I did. During my short time, reception was so bad in my supposedly "excellent coverage" areas and at my friend's places that I had no option but to quit. It seems they don't serve Edinburgh or the Lothians well at all, which is a shame, because their prices were excellent, and customer services really friendly and helpful.

I'll add some heat.

It’s a great phone and I haven’t found the battery to be a problem, lasts about 36 – 48 hours usually. I’ve turned down the screen brightness to 25%, set the screen timeout and I turn off GPS when not required.
#24
The battery lasts fine (unless you play Jewels on it for hours at a time...) It charges off a mini USB so you can stick it on charge whenever you are near a PC or laptop. Also, stick a wireless 'on/off' widget on the desktop and keep it off when you aren't using it along with the GPS and Bluetooth and the battery will last for a couple of days.

Great phone and replaces a running watch with the free 'My Tracks' GPS app.

3 have vastly improved coverage over the last year or so, plus they have the largest 3g coverage in the UK. Also you are right about t-mobile using orange masts, but not for 3g signals.
I'm sure i heard that t-mobile 3g access is the worst in the UK??
Not what you want on a smart phone?

Not at all, very easy to use and highly functional - the excellent multi-tasking alone coupled with the generous memory make this an obvious choice. Install a custom ROM and over-clock to 1.5 ghz and this baby flies.

how long before you can upgrade a 24 month contract....do you really ahve to wait 2 years to get a new phone?
#28
No to two years. Better make sure its insured, long time to wait for new one.

Pmsl stop talking through your anus
The battery life is almost criminal on the hd
The android appstore is disjointed and will never be in the same league as apples
In 2 years time HTC will of brought out 6 new variants of this at least

haha!! I agree totaly!

Had all three Iphones and then went for this. Its by all means 10 times better than iphone as a phone but its slightly too big, the battery lasts 8 hours with "normal" use and it has a habit of freezing. All of which can be easily read about if you google.

My advise? Get this contract, sell the phone on e-bay
(http://****.co.uk/HTC-Desire-HD-Google-Android-3-Network-Brand-New-/320636985932?pt=UK_MobilePhones_MobilePhones&hash=item4aa774224c#ht_1355wt_1139)

and use your cash to get yourself an iphone4 (http://****.co.uk/Apple-iPhone-4-Black-16GB-Mobile-Phone-/160524682734?pt=UK_MobilePhones_MobilePhones&hash=item25600445ee#ht_512wt_1139)
That means an Iphone 4 for £25 a month + £60! Now thats a hot deal!!

Hi

All,

Be aware that phones sold through resellers are 'funny' cheap deals. Normally with t-mobile you get a free flexibile booster that you can swap for unlimited landline calls etc etc...

Mobiles and other resellers bundle this free booster to get 'free internet'. Unfortunately when comparing the internet capability if you go through mobiles.co.uk or this reseller you have the following comparison

T-mobile direct - 3gb usage allowance and HSDPA speeds of up to 2000 kbit/sec
3rd Part - 1gb usage allowance and 3G speeds of up to 360 kbit/sec

They dont tell you this when you buy it but you will soon find you are capped at 360 kbit/sec. (using speed test application (download from app store)).

Just food for though.

Works out at £511 after cashback and quidco. The htc desire for £10/month for 24 months with virgin is a better deal just £240, obviously the handset is slightly works and looks poor.

Exactly what i was thinking, the phone battery lasts a day, which is about normal for a smart phone, even the oh so popular iPhone only lasts about that. I'd understand the argument if others were different, but they're not - my Blackberry needs a nightly charge also.

Its not a bad price on the phone, but as others have said, 24 months is a long time to have a phone for, these companies obviously subsidise the cost of the phone and need to do it to make a decent profit, but as someone who has had quite a few 18 months contracts, even those are far too long in the mobile phone market.

If you click onto the T-Mobile tab rather than the Popular deals there is an option for 900mins for the same money but with £5 Bill Credit.
