it's not 2gb of data for £800 is it, it includes the iPad 2 3G.

So 550.00, how miuch can you get 2gb internet for?

2GB Internet seems a bit low, I never got this 3gb thing anyway, tons of hot spots around, and I have internet at home.

iPad 16gb 3G is £499 so that makes it £267 for the 24 x 2gb Data allowance (£11/Month).
iPad 32gb 3G is £579 so that makes it £239 for the 24 x 2gb Data allowance (£9.95/Month)

Factor in that you are also getting the iPad on 24 months credit so there would be an interest charge.

Just had a quick look at 3 and it's cheaper than them with a lesser up front commitment too.

Is it still such a bad deal??

Data only is £7.50/Month for 1gb with 3.

People voting this cold really should do the sums and prove they can get it cheaper.

Thanks to the OP but I can understand why you wouldn't bother sharing in the future. This site is becoming a joke.

seriously who would sign up to this , there are quite a few decent sim only data plans
i get 5gb/month for £8/month with Three as i have a mobile contract with them as well.
stick the ipad2 onto a 0% interest credit card and you'll save plenty

edit: Three have a 1 month contract with 2gb/month for £5.11/month = £122.64 for 24months

You'd probably do well to consider that you can't get one of these in most places so to get one on Tuesday is another bonus.

£10 unlimited internet and 250 minutes with giffgaff

but its ok deal if you want to spread the cost.

All a bit complicated for your average punter though to be honest.

Are there any 24 month interest free credit card deals?
Your plan requires you to have a mobile account with 3 so you really need to factor that into the price if you are using it for comparison.

Not looking so cheap now is it??

I can't see the plan you mention on 3?? Got a link??

250 minutes, on and iPad?? Lol.

I'm really hoping the new iPhone can be a wireless hotspot for the iPad 2.

Once again I refer to my above comment of people doing the sums properly and ensuring they are correct before voting cold -

http://support.giffgaff.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/589/~/will-giffgaff-be-supporting-ipad%3F

Unfortunately at giffgaff we will not be supporting the Apple iPad at anytime now or for the foreseeable future.

SIMs provided by giffgaff are solely designed for Mobile phone use only

Our forum members have been able to cut their SIM to produce a D.I.Y MicroSim.

But any use of a giffgaff D.I.Y MicroSims in an iPad, dongle or any other device except a mobile phone is strictly forbidden under clause "5.11" of our terms and conditions

SIM only.
Our SIM will only work in a 3G phone. Get a Three SIM and join the UK's biggest 3G network.

Tethering is already supported in 4.3 but certainly Voda and 02 require you to pay extra.

Personal Hotspot: This has been a long time coming. It turns the Wi-Fi radio in your iPhone 4 into an access point. Up to three other Wi-Fi clients -- a Mac, PC, iPad, or anything else with a radio -- can connect to it, and then share the phone's 3G data connection to the Internet. Using USB and Bluetooth, you can let two other devices also share a cellular link. A status bar display shows you how many devices are connected; each connection is password protected. When not in use, the hotspot shuts off.

i use my 3 sim in my Dell Mini 9 with its internal WWAN 3G card running OSX 10.6.3
all youd need to do would be trim the sim card down to micro sim size Video

That may be the case but it's likely in violation of their T & C's much like GiffGaff.

That aside you've yet to show me where you can get the iPad, on Tuesday with no down payment and 24 months finance.

Bought an iPad 1,16gb,3G last week for my local three shop for £75. This comes with 15 gb Internet for £20 per month on 24 month contract. Far better deal if you ask me. Not much speed increase between the iPad 1 and 2 judging by comparison videos on YouTube.

Again that may be so but this is an iPad 2 discussion :p

I'd consider this to be a pretty good deal, sure, the data isn't great, but it's a brand new iPad 2 & it's only been out for a day...
I'd love to be able to put it on an interest free credit card, but it's not an option for me. This is a fantastic way to get my hands on the latest gadget, so would class it as hot!

Is this an instore only deal btw?

it's not there online - you have to pay out a bit upfront for it?
#25
I reckon if it's instore you'd get it over the phone but the website is possibly not updated yet.

you'd be wrong... benchmarks show its twice as quick for CPU and the GPU is 7.5x more powerful

these are stats from independent tests and not from apple

It's an instore only deal, & it's for existing customers who spend over £30 a month on contract already.
16gb iPad2 is free.
32gb iPad2 is £50.
64gb iPad2 is £100.

I went for the 64gb. Will be delivered to the store on Tuesday
#29
It's not just for existing customers as I'm not one.

Bargain and just grabbed one from my local Vodafone shop.

This offer is HOT, HOT and HOT and not as some idiots claim and keep stating its a cold deal.

Load of drabble, its a hot deal and a bargain.

I got this offer over the phone today by Voda Customer Services. They called me about some other poxy offer for phones for family members with a PAYG service.

I only pay £24pm on my contract. They said they were offering to existing Voda customers with 3 years plus loyalty.
#32
So what are you paying??

24 x £32??
