You say it was free but it is "free listing 25th & 26th September" and this is not the 25th or 26th September yet. I must say this is an easy concept to grasp isn't it?
#10
Ah you edited your reply of earlier. I'll be quiet then.

Me too. No doubt they are trying to make it so they only give free listing to those who arn't already listing items. But last time, any one could do it, although not everyone was told.

A bit like the fact that some people currently get ebay points when buying, to collect and spend later, and some don't.

They had a recent Free Listing day only a few weeks ago, rumour has it due to EBAY not achieving the pre-tax profits that were expected of them this year, they are desperately trying old/new incentives to bring up wallets to the right size.... So expect a few more of these free listings (thats ebay talk for "Yes list for free, but we will take 10% of the final cut from thee"...
#13
aint all listings free anyway now?? thought you only pay selling fees.. ive been listing for weeks now and dont get charged :s

That explains why they are coming thick and fast. Used to be every six weeks or more - now its every couple of weeks.

No, listing fees are still charged, except on a starting price of 99p or below

Great, however ebay is just a **** take these day, people complain about anything, fuss and moan over literally things that dont even effect them and just want freebies in return, and not to forget the amounts ebay charge (10%) not the listing fee but the actual cut they want from sale, and on top paypal fees (which are not so bad compared to ebay). But hey still good.

Your not wrong its an horrid place to trade now, but theres nothing else, If you don't send recorderd delivery, they pretend it never arrived. If you put a low postage price with a 7 days delivery target, they still bid, then email you the day after the auction asking why it hasn't arrived yet. You can't leave them neg feedback to warn others either,

Free listing days are rubbish....

I'll like to see a free FVF day, now that'd be worth it
#20
are there any NON buisness sellers out there lol, i thought ebay brought in new rules that ebayers have to update to buisness seller now?
#21
If you go into your account, look at 'Community' then 'News', it is there under Announcements. I have just had a look as I didn't get an e-mail either but it says 25th & 26th September.:)

#23
Really bugs me that you cant use turbo lister on these promo days :(
#24
not a deal. its a steal by ebay
#25
whoop-de-doo, listing fees are enticingly low anyway. When you sell your item is when they bite your arm off, say goodbye to a big chunk of your cash... FVF and PP are the internets biggest rip.

great deal of you are selling for cash on collection tho, but dont tell ebay that because they will pull your ad. Very, very greedy company.
#26
Ebay is taking the mick, stupid buyer leaving crap unfair ratings, I have 100%FB and ebay have restricted my account on how much ~I can sell, People moanin that they didnt recieve within 2 days and giving me low star rating and now I have 1 thing listed as cant list anymore until my rating goes up, but how can I get it up again if I have only 1 thing listed!!! They say do free p&p then people moan that the thing ur selling isnt worth the amount because u have added p&p in (Heavy Items) So ebay then get more £ as they get money from FVF as they dont get FVF on P&P, so I cant use this offer as cant list anything!!!! Good deal if u can,
#27
This offer is a joke - Ebay suggest you use their software to quickly and easily list your items (TurboLister), and if you do they say you don't qualify for this offer as presumably they say I'm a business.

I used to wait and list several items when free listing days cropped up, due to the fact that they now charge 10% as a FVF. Now it seems they consider me a business!!!

YEs, Ebay make their money from the final value fee !!!

I dont use conEbay anymore , I now use gumtree or such like which is actually FREE !!!!

It doesnt state that ebay motors are excluded! So if motors are included then a very good deal.

Doubt they will be though!

Cracking way to list those items you want to put a high minimum price on (to save reserve fees)...but remember auction final value fees are about 10% vs. 3-4% on buy it now listings

Unless they have changed it recently, buy it now is also around 10%.
#32
I hate to use auction listings on eBay, they can take a whopping 10% as the final fee. When you sell phones this is a big amount. For instance a 169.99 sale would incure 16.99 auction fee, while buy it now would be roughly 5.25. I use a little optimistic buy it now price with offers, which has saved me loads on fees.

Wow that passed me by! You're correct though the higher the price you end up paying some at a reduced 6%....

It is always free for items posted with an starting bid of 99p or less, above that it is charged in increments although not sure exactly what these are. All I do know is that between 99p and £4.99 its 10p per listing

...and that promotes advertisements at the expense of auctions. I really think Ebay have lost their way too far now.
#36
Seems like a free listing weekend every other week now. While I hate what eBay has now become, until the buyers stop going there, as a seller you don't really have another option.
#37
Yep, what's needed is a sort of Wikiauction - run by the people that use it. Unlikely though.
#38
I totally agree Lakeside, there are plenty of acution template sites etc. out there, if enough of us HUKD users all decided to set one up we could all use it....

power to the people!
#39
Could I list my stuff today and set it to start on sat or sun? Would I still be eligible for free listing? I'm going away this weekend!
#40
It needs one of the big boys like Google to come along and takeover eBid to give eBay a bit of competition.

If you're going to sell using "Buy it now" you're probably better off listing things on Amazon or Play where there are minimal fees and listed indefinitely.
