there's no such thing as a free lunch..but I'll take my chances

That's my arteries sorted for next week
#4
Do they serve lunch items all day?
#5
Why 65p?
The D Mirrror surely isn't 65p in the week?.

Yes, possibly not early morning for some ie whilst they are being cooked but most are available all day

would not call this a free lunch - hardly enough to satisfy ones appetite.

OP, don't forget to mention the free toilet paper you get every day as part of this deal ;-)
#11
if you go in with your voucher you can pratically ask for anything else and they will have to give it to you! on the last promo, if you went in with a free suasage roll voucher but told them you didnt like them could i have a cheese pasty they would have to give it to you, will be the same with the sandwich on the 1st day!
#12
You can't beat a Greg's dummy but has anyone noticed how the price varies in different parts of the country from about 55p up north to a nearly pound in central london. So this means deal is hotter the further south you are.
#13
Excellent deal. Especially if you already get the newspaper anyway, or get something from greggs every now and again. Its not like you have to do it every day, and i'm sure workplaces around the country won't be complaining at all the reading material being left in staff canteens.

ha ha agreed. yum yum! :D

brilliant! i pass by a few greggs on the way to work so i'll get a few copies of the paper and pop into each greggs each day for one each, and do the same on the way home when different staff are on the counter, and that's my tea sorted too!
#16
thanks :)
#17
Great deal, but think yourself lucky if you manage to get two pieces of meat in any of their pastries.
#18
good for a freebie

Just avoid the sausage rolls... Greggs sausage are the most disguisting there is, they're like paste inside not sausages, always taste like they're not cooked and have washing up liquid mixed in.... Cooplands make the best sausage out of the big boys....
#20
Nice.
#21
I assume this will be the Daily Record in Scotland!
#22
It's hardly a "free lunch"...those free things would hardly qualify as a snack.

Voting cold purely for talking rubbish.
#23
yum yum!
#24
This is a brill deal, deff hot from me!
#25
No Greggs south of Taunton....But then again we have proper pasties! :)

what exactly are greggs? as I thought they called themselves Greggs the bakers but I went in there once for a loaf of bread and she said we dont sell bread !!!!

Well the bigger Greggs do sell bread but the smaller ones are just there as sandwich, cakes and pasties shops. It is silly that a branch of bakery wouldn't sell bread on it's own but thats's what's happened with Greggs. They are basically a fast food outlet now.

I agree. They are Rank! All the other stuff is OK

Everything bar the doughnuts in greggs has gone to poop, the cheese and onion pasties have gone redicoulously small and taste crap! (so many chunky onions) the tuna bagguetts used to taste nice but now taste like tin can....not to mention they have increased their prices alot. £2 for a tuna bagguette and 90p for a pasty seriously they have gone down the pan.
#29
great offer
#30
mmmmmm free lunch
#31
So is anyone going to say Fridays pizza is rubbish?
After reading the posts, it's put me right off bothering with the offer!

I wonder if there is any small-print on the voucher allowing substitutions for vegetarians? Not a veggie myself, but there vegetable pastie has always been my favourite thing in there.

Used to work directly opposite a Greggs. Weighed two stone over what I do now.

Am I the only one who likes their sausage rolls?

Couldn't have said it better, not worth the 45p

Hot deal but not for me.

What's in the sub roll???
#37
Theres like 3 Greggs stores in my town, but on earlier offers like this it seems that only 1 store out of the 3 does the freebies and it varies which store that does it each day so its a cunning marketing strategy.

I normally go to a local non branded baker where its like £1.20 for a can of coke, a macaroni pie(or Scotch or plain meat pie) and any cake.

I dislike the company as over the last 10 years or so they have taken over all the local bakerys in my home town and the next town along and shot up the prices even when they first took them over and the staff became less friendly.

I remember like 8 or 9 years ago going to a branch of Birketts the bakers that Greggs bought out and before the takeover they would sell stock on at end of day for next to nothing i.e 6 jam doughnuts for like 20p, loafs of bread for 15p that they stopped doing after the takeover.

Greggs are better than most of these kind.
PLUS - they're a NEWCASTLE company (Gosforth)

Haha I bought two packs of Slim Fast in Wilkinson's this afternoon to start my health kick then suddenly felt peckish so headed over to Gregg's and got two Steak Bakes for £2!
