On sale in Tesco stores, Tesco Butchers Choice Applewood Smoked or Unsmoked Wiltshire Cured part boned Gammon Ham Joint.

To clear up the confusion, sorry first time I have started a thread so rank amateur.

Yesterday they were charging £5 at Tesco for a £21+ joint of gammon.

Today they have had a bigger mistake of pricing and it now costs £0.00 for a family sized joint.

MAKE SURE THE JOINT COSTS OVER £20 OR IT DOES NOT WORK.

The discount comes off in two stages at the checkout.

Firstly it takes £5 off when the joint is scanned.

Then at the paying stage it takes the remainder off, so the meat is free.

This is a misprice and will Tesco must be aware of it by now, but it has worked today in dozens of stores.

Enjoy and Merry Christmas

Saw this yesterday on MSe when the joints were costing £5 , even better today.

Its true this is all over certain other forums, basically its meant to take £5 off but instead was leaving £5 to pay (yesterday). Now they have tried to correct this mistake by adding another taking £5 off, but haven't taken the other off. So it takes off £5 and then £16 leaving nothing to pay...
#14
so tesco let you go through the till with loads of gammn and say its free of charge?
#15
go to the self pay one then ;)
#16

Saw this on MSE a few days ago. You have to pay for one. Title of this is misleading.

Here's the thread:

Please note it's only certain stores (area specific) and NOT ALL stores.

well im gonna give it a go later,im sure if they had made a mistake like that they would sort it out asap
#20
Is this at the deli counter or in a fridge display where you get the free gammon ?
I cannot see this still working now even if i was i bet they have sold out by now with people buying or in this case not buying more than they need.

Just been to Tesco and got Tesco Butchers ChoiceApplewood Smoked Whiltshire Cured part boned Gammon Ham Joint. I think must be priced over £20 each.

They go through the till on mulitsave - Buy 1 save £5.... well it should do..
You actually PAY £5 each for them!!

Got 2 each for my parents tonight and some for us.

Dont know how long it will last though........

this is what its says on mse

I have come to the conclusion that one could go completely stark raving bonkers attempting to keep up with these deals, finding the correct codes, rushing down to stores in a bid to grasp the last item to find that they have all gone because the traffic was so bad and you couldn't get there any sooner.
#23
When making multiple purchases on errors it would be silly to make it look too obvious, you should always buy other things you need to that the purchase gets lost in the list.

Turning up with 200 gammon joints and [email protected] all else but a big smile would soon make you look like a chump.

Groovy - clears it up thanks. Dont the checkout people notice this tho? Or are they just too effed off having to work to care? !!!
#29
It's best to buy some more shopping at the same time or just the self service station.

I tried both, staff and self service, the checkout staff were so busy they didn't even notice.

#39
What would you do if they did not discount, what would you say to get a refund.
Also, asked a guy to do a price check on the gammon and it displayed the price as marked, does the discount come off at a later time.
