I did the quido and RAF for this for a family member. Quidco declined and RAF no where to be seen. Looks like they have cottoned on to this. I am really disappointed with Three. Will be cancelling my contract as a matter of principle.

PS: My contract had been set up as a 18 month contract even though I signed up for 6 month one when I called up to give my cancellation notice a few days ago. Took 4 phone calls and a lot of "negotiating" to get it put back to 6 months including telling them I have all the print outs and saved the web chat. BEWARE

Hy everyone, I've just read a few threads on this deal & many are talking about problems quidco & refer a friend
cashback kings seem to be saying you can get £32.50 on this deal, although I'm a bit unsure with their wording:

My experience with 3G network is a nightmare. I have not seen such a worst network in UK so far. I have 2 lines. No signal for 6 months during the contract period but still they sqeezed me with the line rental for both. The LG phones they gave were rubbish.

Personally, I do not recommend anyone to move to 3G.
#9
Awful network, only good thing is the free phone and that it's 'only' six months.
#10
As for someone who has been on every network over the years I can confirm 3 are the worst for reception.

I am currently locked into an 18month contract with 3, as soon as its up I'm going back to O2.

:x

RAF is for 18 months contract only, not for 6 months. You do not get any option to enter ur friends number if you go for the 6 months deal
#12
Can anybody confirm that they have got the cash back via Quidco?
Thanks
#13
If you read the thread.. you don't get it.

You must have got it way before they *officially* stated a 6 months contract like mine.

I got both quidco and RAF, and cancelled it, but they are a bit funny with it saying it was an 18 month contract!

I can confirm I have ordered one via quidco and can confirm I received £32.50 cashback which tracked next day. You can't get RAF on the 6 month or 12 month ontracts. If you read three's T&C for RAF you will see it says only on 18 month contracts.

I do recommend that when you are going through your order, click on talk to sales team online and live chat and ask about the RAF option not showing on the 6 month contract, they will confirm its not available but will give you a £20 accessories voucher code which you enter end of order and get £20 free accesries. free delivery too.

Hope that helps:roll:

I was wondering how to get that £20 voucher :D thanks, Rep for youuuu!

Those guys moaning about 3 reception:

Mobile coverage is never 100%. If you are unlucky enough to live in a coverage blackspot then sounds like you chose the wrong network. If in doubt, get a PAYG sim or get a friend to test the mobile coverage for you.

I've been with 3 for nearly 3 years. Great network, great mobile content, great mobile tools and best of all, great value.

By the way, very very polite call asian call centres too!
#21
Voted hot although this deal is oldskool. Wonder if they will let me upgrade on a 6 month contract? hehe
#22
I took this up and had it all through a few weeks ago - even tracked on quidco.

Luckily they never activated the phone properly and i couldnt make a call, which is the only reason they let me cancel the contract. - Reason i didnt make a call was that had no reception in my house - anywhere! Which bizarrely enough is the reason they couldnt activate the phone - couldnt get a signal to it.

Have had T mobile, Orange and Vodafone now and all had perfect reception.

3 use T Mobile as their 2G network when 3G isnt available...

coverage on any network is never guaranteed indoors, only outdoors. All the figures you see for network coverage are based on this. Bricks and Mortar do make a difference to signal strength. Ive seen people say the same thing for all the mobile networks. With any new contract you have a 14 day period to return the phone, if there is no coverage indoors this should be clear from the moment the phone is bought and you can return under the 14 day rule. If its not clear then 3 use 2g signal as a backup. Ive used 3 for last 3 years, signal fine. Customer service always good. Last time I was giving notice on one of my contracts they didnt offer me anything that I wanted but on last day of the 30 days called to offer a tariff of 17 months free on an 18 month contract, 500 mins and 100 texts and keep phone.

Just completed my order. Got the Nokia 6120 on mix and match 300. I used Cashback Kings and it tracked it straight away, Award date is 28 Sept 2008. I went to the online help and got the free £20 voucher which is a bonus.

Exactly. People are so quick to recall past problems and treat them as if they are still relevant, which is daft with the Three network, as although it was a late starter it has been catching up all the time. And you've got a fall-back to a completely different 2g network.

My office-mate's shiny iPhone gets not a squeak from O2 at work, yet I have reasonable Three/T-Mobile reception.

Still, if enough prejudice still exists, Three will have to keep their prices down which benefits those of us on the service.

i got the cashback for a 18 month contract , cant comment on this deal though

I signed for this deal twice for myself and my wife around 2-3 months ago. Went through quidco and did a RAF.

I already received 1 quidco (32.50) and the other has tracked.

Still no sign of the RAF, but I don't see how they can not give it to you as this is actually an 18 months contract, it just has a minimum of 6 months term! They should pay after 3 months so at that point they don't know if you will cancel at 6 months or not.

Hy, it was different 2/3 months ago now its started as a 6mth contract, whereas before July it was 18mths with 6mth minimum term -see following post from raj75 in another thread:

" raj75
Until 30th June, it was an 18 month contract with an option of leaving after 6 months. At those times, Quidco and RAF both worked.
Since 1st July, the contract has been made straight as 6 months. So no one can be sure of Quidco or RAF for a while.

I have read reviews and the only one rated is the nokia 6120 - but then some people say
that its a piece of s**t its a bit of a marmite phone !!

I am interested in getting one of these if someone can 100% confirm that Quidco does indeed work?

I'm sure there was a better choice of phones on there last week though.

What's the crack with regards to a discount on mobile broadband if you sign up for a 3 contract, i'm currently on their pay as you go mobile broadband thing.

Cheers for any answers that you've got.

I went for this deal at the beginning of the month, I went through quidco and it says it has been validated. Does this mean I will be paid? I also got a £20 voucher though most of the stuff available is about twice as much as else where meaning the voucher is only really worth £10.

I like the Nokia 6120 though i can be a bit of a geek at times. My only complaint is it feels a little cheap / fragile. I pay an extra £5 a month for the Internet, it works well for me, I downloaded the opera broswer for easier web viewing.

Has anybody come to the end of their 6 months yet. I'd like to stay with 3 but pay for a cheaper sim only tariff? has anybody achieved this?

There's no longer a need to be a 3 customer to get the half price discount.

Quidco have an offer on 3 broadband (£7.50 pcm 18mth contract and £12.50 Quidco making it £6.81pcm).

Unfortunately not - it expired yesterday.
