Just saw this on the O2 website, offer is available for purchases from ALL authorised retailers which, according to the Motorola website, includes Orange, Phones4u, Tesco Direct, Tmobile, Amazon, Buymobiles.net, Clove, Handtec, Unlocked-Mobiles, Very and Tesco Mobile - doesn't list O2 though, so I'm assuming other retailers are 'authorised' too.

Choice of colours available, currently selling for £7.99 on Amazon.

Thought this might benefit new Moto G owners who aren't aware of the offer, apologies if details are included with the phone, but as I haven't managed to catch it in stock yet at Tesco, I don't know for sure!

EDIT: If your imei number isn't accepted, try again on Monday, apparently there's a backlog in uploading these to their system, due to the large volume of sales (thanks to Sai_Yin for posting the email from Customer Services)

Terms and conditions from O2 website:

o2.co.uk/ter…ank

Entry is via online only.

The Free Cover Offer applies only to the original purchase of a Motorola, Moto G in the UK from authorized retailers between 24th December 2013 and 26th Feb 2014 ("Qualifying Purchase"). Covers are available for this offer only while supplies last.

Opening date for applications is 27/12/13. Closing date for receipt of applications is midnight 15/03/14.
The offer is subject to availability. Customers are only eligible to redeem once per Moto G purchased.

No cash alternatives in whole or in part.

Now they say: Please note that this offer is only applicable for customers who purchased their Moto G directly from O2 (O2 retail store, O2.co.uk or an O2 call centre) between 24th December 2013- 26th February 2014.

Therefore only O2 users are valid for this promotion.

O2 need to change their T&Cs if they are the only ones whose customers get the offer.

As stated in the deal description: [Just saw this on the O2 website, offer is available for purchases from ALL authorised retailers which, according to the Motorola website, includes Orange, Phones4u, Tesco Direct, Tmobile, Amazon, Buymobiles.net, Clove, Handtec, Unlocked-Mobiles, Very and Tesco Mobile - doesn't list O2 though, so I'm assuming other retailers are 'authorised' too.

So it was previously stated that the deal would be for purchases from those sellers too.

I have not yet received a response to the email I sent yesterday. When I do, I will post back in this thread.

It is on the o2 website as I just had a look. Probably just a case of bad coding behind the online claim form.

Seeing jez794's post, I wondered if it's not working if a free case was received with the phone already?

Just wondering if they actually have records of all the IMEI phones from 24th Dec or whether some people can be cheeky and claim for a phone bought prior to that. As in having a valid UK Moto G IMEI. A phone could have just been sitting in a warehouse somewhere from the older stock and was found and sold etc.

if this is true then this explains why people are having trouble getting unlock codes for their moto g, the imei database is not updated yet.

When you turn it on it registers with Motorola Assist, so perhaps they'll check the IMEI list against that?

Bit unfair moto don't include all moto sales or didn't publicise this earlier

Agreed, I actually bought mine a couple of weeks before Christmas for my wife, switched it on to check it worked, install some apps & stuff, then wrapped it up until 25th. Bit of a jip if I don't qualify for a free cover
