Well...screwfix's website does work in this non friendly way ...I can confirm that once you place the order (totalling above) 10 you must get free shipping. Do not try calling contact centre for this offer as this is web only offer...

Lets hope they let you reserve an order for collection at a local store like Argos - or at the very least stock check.

Ignore what Quidco says. I've made a number of orders with Screwfix recently and they DO pay cashback for non kitchen / bathroom items.

+1 - Toolstation prices much better
Didn't the guy who started Screwfix (before selling it to B&Q/Kingfisher) also start Toolstation?

So if i choose Saturday Delivery (£10!), will that be free?

DIS-REGARD COMMENT --> ORDERED AND GOT FREE DELIVERY FOR SATURDAY

interesting hearing all the comparisons to Toolstation. I think the guy who started Screwfix sold it to Kingfisher Group (who own B&Q) and then started up Toolstation and undercut all their prices. Can't fault him!

sorry next time I'll read what others have put!
#25
BTW Toolstation is always free del over £10 :)
#26
Am I missing the point here? This is free NEXT DAY delivery - yes Toolstation is cheaper in general with free delivery over £10 BUT not guaranteed for next day delivery - especially Saturday.

As it happens, they didn't have a 50m RG6 cable but would save £1.50 on the clips and F plugs. Saving me stuck in Saturday traffic - priceless!

Not a 'sizzling' deal but good offer if you happen to need sometime urgently but don't have time to go to the shop (my local Maplin would charge double of what I paid anyway).

Thanks and heat added.

Another thumbs up for Toolstation. Their free delivery on £10 or over spend is spot on.

For me in order for Screwfix to be competitive they need to have free delivery and handling on orders over £25 given their larger product range.

They would get lots more orders (from me at least) if they did that.
#28
great ordered items bought from b&q for half the price! and free next day delivery 4% quidco..there going back to b&q tommorow.

I don't think there's much difference in the range nowadays.

Not only is Screwfix more expensive, with a higher free delivery threshold, but its minimum quantities on a lot of things are also huge. I can understand that for mail order, but why do they do that in their branches too?

Screwfix has become big, fat and lazy. Toolstation will no doubt succumb to middle-age spread before long, but at the moment it's lean and mean. Once things start advertising themselves on TV you know the rot has set in.
