I put 'Virgin' in the search box on Quidco and Virgin Mobile appeared. I assume that is what was meant.

Just a note. I signed up for a lower cost contract with Virgin last week and used the £30 Quidco intro. Tracked at £53 for a day, then verified next day. So fast and more than they say.

there are better deals out there if you want more minutes,we got a nokia 5800 with 400 mins unlimited txts,£20 per month, then £50 quidco ... equals £17.23 / month on 18 month contract, maybe a tad more expensive but worth it for the extra minutes, it was dial-a-phone orange dolphin or racoon i cant remember which one..
#12
Is this phone actually any good? I have a Samsung U800 but want something with a bigger screen and free internet. I have a 16gb iPod for music/apps etc.

Worth getting?
#13
I like this deal but I just wouldnt go for a 18 month contract!

+heat!
#14
yeah the phone is a bit big for my liking, and not keen on 18 months tie in

It is not a bad deal in terms of what they are offering. However the phone is pants, if you are a serious user of a multimedia device then you will be disappointed with this model. Most of the apps do not work, the interface is very clunky and slow and not laid out very well.

However in terms of features it has pretty much everything, it has GPS, WiFi, 3G, Touch Screen, 8GB card supported and since it is a Nokia it is a good phone (FOR TALKING). If you compare it to other alternatives in the market then it is very disappointing and hence this phone is offer on pretty much every network on cheap tariffs as Nokia launched N97 recently and this is no longer attractive to many.

My sister got this deal last month and gets free data usage as well!
she loves the phone. not experiencing any of the probs the above poster is. Maybe they have updated the firmware since, playing videos is great and she connects the phone to her tv and watches iplayer through the phone and wifi without any probs.
#17
Superb phone IMO 8gb card with it, easy to transfer data, easy to use, good speakers...need I say more!
#18
have this phone, love it!!
#19
Just gone for it; they also do trade in in terms of money off your bill, but the value was not that good for my phone, £11.50.
#20
So does unlimited data mean free internet? and is that just wi-fi, or mobile internet too?
#21
Just did a bit of math- £18 a month for 18 months is £324, take away £53 which is what quido is validating at then another £30 for red rewards(virgin give you £10 back for every £100 you spend). So in all £241 which makes the monthly spend £13. Great price.
£324-£53-£30=£241(roughly)

If people aren't adverse to cashback sites, it's available in the following places:

300 mins & 300 texts - £10.58/month after cashback on 18 month contract (not inc. £20 Quidco)
www.affordablemobiles.co.uk

300 mins & 200 texts - £14.68/month after cashback on 12 month contract (not inc. £20 Quidco)

normally I take away the value of the phone to because you dont realy get the phone for free, cheapest payg from play for £160 so £241 - £160 = £81, so it's costing £4.50 + cost of phone.

Good maths. Thanks. How do you claim/get the red rewards? Is it available for contract/pay monthly phones?
#25
Would it be better value to choose the unlimited data option as a light user in terms of texts and calls?

This is what i was thinking. I wouldn't use the 150 mins or 500 texts, so if the unlimited data means you can get internet for free all the time then that would be a better deal for me.
#27
Anyone know how i can give them my pac code, only thing i could find was to phone a number up, but i'm unsure whether they will be able to change the number after the contract has already started.

wi-fi does not count towards your data allowance, only the mobile internet, it's 1gb on virgin which is double most other networks

ive had this for about 2 weeks now, not a bad little phone. its a bit chunkier than most but it replaced my old ipod. also when comparing this to the n97, it has the same OS but an improved sound chip. the sound is definitely better than my ipod was. i went with vodafone which worked out at around £18 a month with 600min/ult text/ult data after quiodco and selling my old phone for £35.

i would have stuck with virgin for their excellent customer service, but the idiots didnt match the vodafone offer until i'd already had my contract a week

Does anyone know Vodafones policy for providing unlock codes? I need to use my tmobile sim in this phone also but was wondering what
a) the charge was to obtain a code from Vodafone; and
b) if there was a minimum time frame before Vodafone would provide this?

I wanted to know the same answer, i called up and asked and the woman told me you CAN change your phone number any time during the contract, just get your PAC code and give it to them.

Red Rewards are added to your account automatically, and can be used against buying new phones, credit etc.

Excuse the rather noobish question, but could you take this deal and use the SIM solely for internet access? (and if so, would Virgin get cheesed off if you used it constantly i.e. 24/7?)

It will be faster & cheaper to buy from ebay unless your phone over a year old then it free from vodafone by asking for your NUC code, you can do that by email or phone

Excellent deal but I the phone is not good. The touchscreen is hard work, make sure you try before you buy. Voted hot as this is an excellent deal

First forum post, so please be gentle...

Does anyone know if you use Quidco can you also use any Red Rewards that you might have?

Or does signing in as an existing customer at checkout upset the Quidco tracking??

Both can be used at the same time. Quidco will take you to Virgin mobile were you will complete your transaction and also obviously you will create a virgin account and every £100 you spend youll find a nice £10 coming back to you.

Grrr. I got this on the 22 contract last week and forgot about the Quidco until about 2 seconds after I hit Confirm!

The phone has really unstable software and the unlimited data is pretty pointless as most of the time you can't get onto the internet.

Sorry, maybe didnt make it clear it my first post. I'm an existing Virgin Customer, already with 20 quid toward a new handset on Red Rewards.

If I go to the Virgin site via Quidco, add deal to cart and head to checkout it asks if existing customer, if I then click yes to that and claim my £20 rewards am I in danger of losing the Quidco dosh??

Would seem daft to lose the £50+ only to gain £20, but equally stupid not to find out if I could get £70, ie Quidco + Rewards
