hardly a mega bargain hence lack of replies, plus this deal has been on before,(new and refurbished N80) dont forget after 18 months your line rental is £35,the £15 line rental for life offers from 3 represent much better value.

N80 came out in 2005. A better deal would be possibily the SE K800

Because the title is misleading, I looked thinking it was free but the contract term cost is £315.00 not £0.00 as the title says.
#11
does the deal end after 18 months or do you have to cancel?
do you have to give any notice period? like 90 days and can you do this at 15 months so the contrack ends in the 18 months?

I guess its in the small print but my eyes aren't that great at my age
#12
30days notice to cancel, so cancel at 17th monthend
#13
To my knowledge all phone contracts run on until they are cancelled.
#14
Welcome to HotUKDeals duneindex :)

what do u think the next offfer with 3 will be?

Corrected the title to reflect this.

They have this offer with all their phones pretty much at the moment. IMHO a better tarriff is the Video Talk and Text 700, also at £17.50 a month at the moment, get £100 back thru quidco and £30 for a current 3 customer. Offer varies with phones, but definately worth checking out their website.
#18
i have had this phone on 3 for about 6 months and i have to say it's the worst i've ever had.
Get hardly any reception, even though i live in a very busy town nr Manchester. :x
Text don't always send, they just stay in outbox. or the screen 'freezes' for what feels like an eternity while ones sending and you can't come out of it or lock your screen. you just have to wait.:x
internet connection always drops as soon as you try and load a page. :x
i personally would avoid this like the plague. Had Nokias for the best part of the last 10 years and never had a problem until now. least i only got 12 month contract so i can get SE next time....won't be on three either! :whistling:
#19
ok so does that mean this deal is not good i think
#20
Personally, it looks a good deal to me £215 over 18 months is £12 a month roughly.
#21
and aswell if u recommend u will get £30 cut of ur bill if it does accept and if u recomend one then its £285 i am sorted wot i did i bough this contract for 3 people that includes me one for me i did quidco i got £100 one for ma friend i did his i got another £100 and one for ma mum but this time its £70 because of a different price plan the video talk 500 u will only get £70 now thats alltogther £270 i will aswell recomend them i will get another £60 thats £330 so the contract for me is free yes
#22
florrydorry are you using the new firmware, go to nokia site use the software updater, I am using version 4.something and have none of the problems you mentioned....I do however have a problem with the slider, when the phone vibrates it has a really loud rattle, maybe easily fixed, yet to find out.....also this phone is way better than the k800.
#23
Remember you can add X Series onto this for £5 per month, that gives you unlimited (subject to fair use) internet, Skype, MSN (although that may already be part of the contract), plus other stuff.

Worked out cheaper for me than similar deals on T Mobile, plus you do not have to bother about the cashback redemption.

Haha. Loved that bit of the thread. Seriously though, this is a seriously good deal. At the moment you aren't going to get a cashback contract on the N80 for £315, regardless of the extra £100 QuidCo cashback - and if you do it won't have anywhere near as many minutes and texts!!
#30
DUCKMAGIC, What's your expert opinion on this phone?
My father went for this deal on a different phone a few months back and now my contract is comming to an end I am tempted myself. £5 of downloads, video mins and photo text as well as lots of mins and reg text seem a great deal to me. Just not sure on which phone to pick.
#31
The N80 is the best phone on this offer IMO. Great features and everything.

The Nokia N80 is Nokia's first 3 megapixel cameraphone. It's also the world's first handset to feature Universal Plug and Play technology. The N80 can be used as a remote control for wirelessly swapping content between compatible PCs, audio equipment and TVs. For example, images and video stored on the N80 or on a compatible PC can be viewed on a TV, while music from the N80 can be played through an audio system. The N80 also has a high resolution 352x416 pixel display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, video capture with digital video stabilization.

The features are quite novel. And the Wi-Fi means you can connect it upto a wireless router I think. I'm not sure how the phone implements it.
#32
Thanks for that. Think I will give it a go.
#33
Does anyone know if it comes locked to 3?
#34
I would stake my mortgage on it being locked to 3, yes. And, apparently, impossible to unlock without Nokia intervention at the moment?
#35
Maybe a daft question but my 18 year old son is a bit of a 'texter' currently paying at least £10/mth on O2 (for the texts!). He has a SE W550i which he absolutely loves and is loathe to give up (even though they appear to be collectable and are going for £140 second hand on Amazon!). The phone is unlocked and we've already established it works fine with my 3 contract sim. Nothing to stop him signing up for this deal, selling the N80 and putting the new 3 SIM in his existing unlocked phone?

As I see it, it would be a bit of a no-brainer. He gets £100 Quidco, £30 by being referred by me (existing 3 contract customer), plus a decent wack for selling the N80 (£180?). Would make the net monthly cost very reasonable. Anyone?

Nothing to stop him doing that, but if he's a texter then this deal may be better for him...

Thanks for that. Actually, we've just been having a look and he really likes the look of the LGu400 (this seems to be LG's attempt at taking on the SE Walkman phones) and it's available for free on the Direct Text 675 package at £15/mth for 18 months. Looks ideal for him (he uses very few minutes speaking, it's mostly text with him).

Yeah, I did always like the look of the U400. I thought it was an amazing phone back when it was released but it never really caught hold of the market.

#39
i think the deal has now ended, i really wanted this phone, and was waiting for my contract to end in mid march...... damn!

it was an awesome deal for a fantastic phone.
#40
Hmmm.....I wonder if 3 have decided that paying the Quidco cashback is proving a little too costly? Being trying to buy a 3 deal online for last 24 hours and this is the page that appears when I press the checkout button:
