To celebrate the first birthday of o2 Broadband every o2 store has 10 free connections to give away.

This is for the 8mb package but you can take the larger packages and get a £7.50 discount if you want. The only requirements are the same as any new broadband connection, a BT line and an o2 mobile phone.

The offer has been on since yesterday and finishes Saturday 15th November.

Like I say this is an incredibly limited offer to the first 10 sign ups per store and very tight on time too so if you've got smaller stores around your area i'd check them first.

My local store (Bromsgrove) still had 9 left when I went in this morning.

*edit* This offer should be in Southern stores from next week, best to ring your local store before heading out.

Ah, cheers Imy300, i've just rang my local store again and they've told me this week it is just for the midlands area. Last week was the North, should be South next week so i'd check with Euston then.

I've updated my post accordingly.

This deal is now on in the East Anglia region, but if your exchange isn't unbundled it will be £10pm instead of free! Still a good deal though.

I got this last week, im in Kent and i called O2 to see what i could get as my mobile phone contract was coming to an end, the very nice lady on the other end said if i took the £20 simplicity tariff, she would give me O2 broadband for free for 12 months....Im with sky at the moment, and when i called them to get my MAC code they didnt try to keep me, just said they would send me my MAC code....so thats another tenner a month saved by changing to O2.....

can you sign up now and have it activated at the end of the month as i am about to move house in two weeks so no point in having it here if moving as i no longer want to be with virgin?

also is there a way to find out about this unbundling thing?

got mine today was a bit miffed at paying 30 quid for the modem router when i already have one but at least they refund on activation. Only thing that was annoying in a way is that they dont know if or when my exchange is being unbundled but they seem to think its by january and if not then its only a tenner a month for 12 months and it means i get out of BT

so hot deal form me and thanks

why is this not hotter? is there cheaper broadband out there? or are o2 no good for home broadband? would like to know as i am a trial period where i can change mind?

o2 are the best, no doubt about that.

I think there is a web-site somewhere that tells you if you have an unbundled exchange.

Or try signing up via the o2 web-site, should tell you there.

yeah saw that on the site and al threviews say how good they. in the shop they reckon its very soon anyway and if not then for a tenner a month its better than 15 with virgin who i am sick of with there poor services
