As usual, these are out of date before the competition starts.

Apparently David Beckham is in the England team (he is sticker 190).

Any idea whether this comes with any stickers?

You can get the album for £1.99 with 3 packs and the album also has 6 stickers. So stricly speaking the album is free as each pack cost 0.50p.

Each pack contains 5 stickers.

We should open a thread to swap stickers. In case anyone needs them I have the Cameroon and Italy stickers in case someone want to swap.

typical scam

free book then the parents have to pay hundreds of pounds for the stickers - especially as you dont know what players you get in the sealed packs and the kids get loads of useless duplicates

should be banned

Surely stickers are better than buying sweets for kids???!!! Anyways with the internet etc and ebay its much easier to trade stickers.....Although some poeple are trying to sell supposedly rare 000 stickers on ebay for £10!!!!

Went in to the newsagents the other day...bought myself 20 packs (payday today, so will probably buy another 40 - 60 packs over the weekend). We're having a competition in the office to complete the album first!!!!

Happy days...just a shame the stickers have got smaller over the years. I also love the way that they are not allowed to use the proper England strip....they've just photoshopped a pure white shirt on all the players (still....they've done it better than they did on 2006!!!)

my uncle is still waiting for Nobby Styles from the 1966 collection (not photoshop airbrushed)

I bought a box of 100 packs off fleabay for £28 delivered, out of 500 stickers i only got about 20 doubles, so not terrible value. The last 100 i will buy in 2 batches from panini direct (it even costs 20% less than the shops).

The Panini XL cards are worse value, you get one extra in a pack and there are less to collect but the doubles ratio is terrible

I was really excited when I read "FREE Panini", but then I read on to see it's some football sticker album thing. :-(
#17
I got really excited as well...although I thought it read "FREE Punani".
#18
Bizarrely, Tim Westwood is on the advert for this.
What connection he has to football, I don't know - perhaps times are hard on The Big Dawg himself

These are $hite and a a total waste of money. I'd go as far as to say a scam.

If that was a power seller rather than a one-off, I wouldn't mind a link to that. :)
#23
yeah same here, cos these are £50 for 100 packs usually.

and what a total rip - 50p for just 5 stickers? when i was a kid it was 30p for 6.
the cheapest ever collection for me was one called Team '90 - scottish based album i think. 12p for a pack of 5 stickers.

the main problem is that you can buy direct from panini for 10p per sticker. so why even bother buying packs when you could just do 12 orders of 50 stickers?

and thats another thing - why such a large album? well over 600 stickers its overkill. i recall the france 98 one hd the lower teams like jamaica and iran as one pagers, and each sticker would have 2 players on it.

id love to know what happened to my old albums, cant recall chucking them i had 98,2002 and euro 2004 but then stopped. picked up the paper sunday and i want to complete this but the cost!!! if i can get 100 packs for £28 id be well chuffed.

God no. I used to collect these sorts of things when I was a kid. Pestering my parents for their hard earned cash.

Like I said, a scam and total waste of money.

In fact, wait a couple of months after the World Cup and you'll get a full set on Ebay for next to nothing.

scam maybe, total waste of money... nah! we've completed the set now for about £45, and we only had one person to do swapsies with - i imagine a skilled haggler in the playground could do it for less haha.

just remember how happy collecting them made you feel as a kid, then you will have no problem buying them for your kids
