The title should read free phone if you buy £40 airtime, currently it implies you get a free phone and £40 airtime for £0,which would be a very hot deal

Still, can't fault the guy, at least he was trying. Too many people are put down for stupid reasons here. Stop being pedantic and accept the fact: this is still a hot deal!

How is this a hot deal? 40 quid is still 40 quid. Ok you get the air time but you have no choice. The investment should be in the phone not the air time which gets p1ssed away on stupidly priced calls.

I hope you're joking. Given enough time, you would have bought £40 airtime anyway, so what exactly does that matter? Unless you plan on using less than £40 before you plan on buying a new phone, why exactly is this cold? Because you don't like Orange? Maybe you should explain why Orange is such a bad network.

£40 topup would not be too bad if it was a better phone. I remember when Virgin Mobile was offering the LG Shine for free if you bought a £40 topup. I bought 2 of the LG Shines and then used the £80 credit (40 on each sim) to place bets via SMS (I think on betnow). All the bets were layed at betfair and I made about £66 from the bets, one bet I placed incorrectly and it came off and I won another £12. So managed to get £78 back via betting. So £2 for 2 LG Shine phones.

If they offered a half decent mobile I would be inclined to go for this offer.

Sorry if this off-topic mate... But could you tell me how you placed bets using the airtime on betfair or any other betting site.....!

I used www.betnow.co.uk. I used the football market, placed bets at betnow by SMS and then layed off the bets at betfair using my PC. Betnow now have prices on their web site so you could max this out a bit as before you could only get prices by sending them a sms which also eroded 10 pence or so from your balance each time.

I used one of the numerous spreadsheets out there to work out how much to lay off at betfair to lose as little money as possible and get back as much as I could out the £80 credit on the phones.

I agree with those above. You get the phone for free as you will use £40 worth or airtime sooner or later! Voted hot :-)
