I have just got a free PS3 from bymobilephones.net. Was looking to get a new PS3 after my old 40GB died over XMAS, and timing co-incided with daughters contract expiring.

Only suitable for light mobile users - 100 Minutes + 100 txts - but seemed a good deal to me...

T-mobile 18 month £15 contract (100min/100txt)
Nokia 1208 Phone £9.99 (Unlocked so will clear that selling it on ebay)

= £270 over 18 months

- £25 Quidco

= £245

Cheapest I could find a 120GB PS3 wast £240 delivered - so 18 months 100 mins contract for my daughter for £5 quid - and pay up the PS3 interest free !!

Not tooo bad but id never pay that £15 for that contract.

I pay less than that for 600mins, 1200 texts and unlimited wap
#3
Not bad, but think I'd rather pay £20 extra and get the 250GB version

I agree the contract is not brilliant - but thats not really the point.

To me I am getting the PS3 on 18 months interest free - and getting my daughter 100 minutes and 100 texts for 28p a month !
#5
good deal if you are after a ps3, i'd agree that it's more of a deal for paying off the ps3 over 18 months, but you might have to wait a bit before you get it
#6
this is a pretty good deal. however you have to fill in forms and send in drivers licence and passport id to claim the ps3..and then it can can take up to 28days if not in stock..which it probably wont be. But a ps3 with a cheapo contract for 245 is awsome.

also pay 20£ more for 250gb (phone price is 30£ instead of 10£)

yea, customer service seems not to be a strong point - but then on-line review usually concentrate on the negative !

I phoned today (20 mins in a queue at lunchtime which wasn't too bad) to query when my PS3 would be shipped (as they had confirmed on-line receipt of my proof of address etc on Tuesday) and was told that they had a shipment in today and would be processing them over the next 48 hours so here's hoping ...
#9
phanco if you've to wait for 20 minutes for quering the shipment, i wonder how long you've to wait when its about complaining. LOL

I've got a contract with them before and they were excellent.

do you need the paper billing or not???

Make it easy to claim your cash or gift with a monthly paper bill (£1) plus optional itemisation (50p).

looks like it is optional, i think it's if you haven't got any of the id they accept, you would have to send your first 2 bills in instead

yea - if you are not happy sending in a photocopy of your driving licence photo card (which has your address) and passport then you can wait until you have 2 bills and send them in instead.

thanks guys

Ive dealt with Buymobilephones.net and had no problems i had £120 cashback i think and a iPod nano as my gifts and they arrived ok so id use them again
As for the actual deal its good as its a interest free way to purchase a Ps3 but poor as a contract itself but suppose thats to fund the gift
#17
i signed up with them just over a year ago and had a "free" laptop. The mrs thought i was a right mug until the shiny new Acer showed up a week later - now i cant get her off it. Very very happy, and my contract expires soon so ill def be looking at another deal from these.

If you are a light phone user and want a PS3 this seems a good deal. Only question is really how reliable the site are, and if there are any dodgy get out clauses like if they run out of PS3's they will send "something of equal or greater value" and end up with holiday vouchers or something equally useless.

This company are true to their Internet word - the deals are genuine and the items normally don't take too long to arrive. I'm quite impressed with all aspects of buymobilephones.net; apart from their Customer Services. On one occasion we were lied to, another we had someone faking being a manager, and I had 2 calls each queuing for 45 mins +.

The PS3 took 2 weeks to arrive - finally arriving on Christmas Eve...and I acknowledge that Christmas was a huge amount of business for them.

Bottom line, I got a PS3 at a very good price (pretty much free) and my girlfriend has a tarriff paying the equivalent of her previous PAYG monthly outgoings.

Finally, the deal used to include 2 Derby County tickets and as a local lad I took my girlfriend's little boy to his first football match. He thoroughly enjoyed watching the Rams get beat 4-1 by Scunthorpe...I was gutted but there you go.

My ps3 arrived 4 days after i had sent off the voucher! Very reliable company I think.

How long will it take you to realise that its structured that way for the PS3 to be included:roll:

I've done this deal aswell, except i chose 24months and the contract is 300mins and unlimited texts for £15 :)

The contract is a combi 15, the phone is worth NOTHING to T-mobile as they was giving them away free to people on low credit score or free gifts... actually a Combi 15 is only 13.50... but a more better value plan is the combi 15(300) 24mth contract 300 mins unlimited texts... and sum top of the range phones included.. Cheaper to buy the games console:p

again, I think you missed my point...

Not interested in the phone (althought I will get what I paid for it through ebay)
The tarrif is fine for my daughter as she is only allowed her mobile when shes at dancing/swimming etc as shes too young for a "full time" mobile.
I am paying full price for the PS3 effectively - but on 18 months interest free payments and with the mobile contract thrown in for (almost) free -28p a month.

Dont see anywhere that wll do 100 minutes / 100 texts per month for 28p so dont see your "value" argument at all :-D

There are thousands of combinations on the website that may suit other individuals - but this was the cheapest one to get the PS3 and thats why I posted. As I said in the OP - only for those who are light mobile users ...

What Do You Think???

My contract is due up now on my phone, however still very happy with it (Nokia 5800). This deal looks good as not interested in a new phone and could just stick the sim in my old one.

Also looking to buy a new console either PS3 or XBOX 360.
See loads of banter online saying which is best however I already have a blu ray player and having owned an old xbox have loads of old games.

The cheapest sim only deal I can get is 10 a month for 200 mins and unlimited text (virgin) if kept for 18 months would cost 180. The best tariff on this deal was the 20 pound one for 18 months that was 200 mins and 200 texts which totals 360.

Now this is the best bit. If I go for this tariff you get cashback, a free phone and quidco so it works out as follows:
- xbox360 elite get 110 cash back off tarrif equals 250, so in effect get console for 70
- ps3 120gb get 60 cash back off tariff equals 300, so in effect get console for 120
- ps3 250gb get 40 cash back off tariff equals 320, so in effect get console for 140

Whic one do I choose?????:w00t:

Sound, thanks for this ... just ordered but there were no mentions of credit checking as far as I can tell ... does anyone know if they will add a full search?

After days of deciding went for the top of the range PS3 250GB. For that price I cant turn it down what a bargain. Now to find some good games. Cheers Heat added!!

I have both consoles and they are much of a muchness despite what the fanboys will argue. IF you have a bluray player already (and is Profile 2.0 capable - ie can get blu ray internet content as wel) then I'd be tempted by the XBOX - as a games machine they are pretty equal and the price difference between the 2 really just represents the Blu Ray drive on the Sony (IMHO). If you play online a lot, XBOX offers the better experience too...

Also check out the type of game your into and what platforms they are available on ...

I looked at plus points for both of them. Decided on the PS3 in the end. Not all my old xbox games are compatiable and to be honest dont think I would play them again. I have a Sony Bravia Hd telly at the moment so apparently this syncs well. Will probably be playing Mordern Warfare and the majority of people I know have this on the PS3 for a bit online play. Now off to buy some games and stuff for it I cant wait.

With my figures as previously stated no way I could turn down a PS3 250gb for 140 pound. Its a steal thanks for finding it well pleased

Is there anything stopping you paying up the entire 18 month contract as soon as the gifts come?

Obviously you cannot cancel it.. but if you pay it up front then you do not have to pay VAT on the unused 17 months... so the overall cost will be reduced by 30-40 quid.

Makes it a cheap way to get a ps3?

I haven't checked, but you will probably find that there is a clawback clause in your contract with the retailer if you cancel within X months (as if you do, they will be penalised by the network and not receive the commission which is supposed to be funding the deal).

How does that work ?

Surely any payment made towards the contract will be subject to VAT regardless of if it is "up front" or not ?
